Notary Acceptor

The SOS instructor said that Notary Acceptor is illegal in AZ. However, in doing some research yesterday, because it was discussed here and the topic intrigued me, I found out that it might be unconstitutional. See Article I, Section 10: "No State shall pass any law impairing the obligation of contracts."
Any attorneys care to comment?

Not that I am an attorney but, why would you want to take part in a transaction such as that? I would never do this even if it was legal. It appears that you will/ could be opening yourself up for a lot of legal concerns if you did something like this. However, I do not know much about it accept what was posted before; and that notary wanted their name removed from everything.

Read message #304420 for my experience in this. Not good.

You might be mentioning the one I posted. I haven't received any more requests, but have heard they are picking up in the twin cities are in MN.

I’m not an Attorney, etc.
JMO….About 99% of this “Notary Acceptor” stuff is just a complete scam put forth by some unscrupulous people to get some poor deluded, desperate, and foolish people to buy their story that by using this ‘method’ they can avoid having to pay taxes, stop/get out of foreclosure, and or stop/delay some government action against them. As a Notary you are not just witnessing a signature, but taking on what could be a long term obligation. Why would anyone want to do this? Most of these people asking for this service can’t afford the $5 notary charge (here in CO) let alone pay what this service could be worth. People call me about this I tell them to seek proper legal advice about their potential problem, and not to go and buy some ‘magic bean.’ Serving the US postal mail carrier that delivered your late notice on taxes is NOT going to make then go away.
