Pacific Documents Services in Brentwood CA

Have been getting the run around on payment for a September 10th invoice. I have resided to the fact that I probably will never get paid from this guy. So I just contacted the escrow officer at the Title Company and filled her in on the situation. I am positive at this point I will never get paid but I feel better letting her know that this is happening. I am tired of this part of the job and from know on will only work for my ol' faithfuls. Have a great November, things are picking up....

I have given this guy a break waiting for payment. But enough is enough with him and all his problems. I have problems also, but I still have to pay my bills. They called a couple of weeks ago to get me to do some job. Said sure when you pay me what you owe. Was told I will have Paul call you. Still waiting LOL.

I did a closing and a modification in March & April of '09, Paul sent a check in July, it bounced and he told me for weeks the new check is in the mail, never got it, tired of calling, just write it off.

I got a call from them 2-3 weeks ago for a closing. I told them they had a lot of notaries complaining about non-payment and they would have to overnight me a check. The lady I spoke to didn't want to do that and told me, "Oh, we cleared up all those issues a long time ago!" I still had an uneasy feeling and turned it down. I'm glad I did.

The most likely situation is that you won't be paid for another month, which would be three months from invoice. Even then, it's likely that the check you receive may be NSF because of another problem by PDS in receiving their vendor payments and thus being able to meet their obligations to the NSAs. Then again, as happened to me recently, the check may actually be good, although at least two months late.

Your decision in the future will then be based on your total experience with Paul Gans and PDS. I'm pretty sure what your decision will be.

I received a call from Paul today, even though I've never worked with him personally. He explained what has happened to his receivables, but is concerned about getting notaries paid. This is a very tough economy & market. As he said, a notary can call him anytime. IMO, that is the way it should be handled & posting on NR should only be a last resort. There's no point in adding to the frustration on both sides of the issue.

I did a signing for Pacific Documents Service in Late July . All he does is give me the run around
If you accept a signing from this company understand that you will not get paid. Paul lies so much.. Are there any suggestions on how any of us can collect from this company?

I appreciate the help at this point. Thank you for your time...

There are comments in Signing Central that talk about bounced checks as far back as Dec. 2007, and slow pay/short pay comments as far back as Sept. 2007. When I check out a company and see these types of comments, I decline the job.

Everyone, do your due diligence and check out the reputation of a company when they call you! If you discover they are not a company you want to work with, then turn the job back to them ASAP and you can avoid these payment issues on your receivables!

Re: I Agree!!!!

I agree with MW/VA and CopperheadVA. Both have excellent comments and both are right. This country is in trouble and we are all feeling it. Maybe Paul is doing the best he can with what he has to work with. I’ve had my own business for the last 40 years and I’ve been thru tight times and then things get better. Times are getting better ( in Sept. I did 14 signings all month / in Oct. I did 29 for the month ). I think this month will be even better.

I wish everyone the best.

P.S. Paul, that light you see at the end of the tunnel is the opening , not a train coming at you. Wish you the best.

I have been working for paul since the beginning and although myself have had a few nsf's the man took care of it very promptly. Paul is a man of his word on making sure his notaries are paid. I will ALWAYS work for Paul as I have never been unpaid by him. Unlike some companies that close there doors or phone is disconnected. Paul you owe me $10.00 for this......lol..All joking aside you correct the issue and that goes along ways with me. Happy November!!!

I've always been paid by Paul also. Yes, its later than I would like, but I'm not worried that I won't get it. He is a man of his word. He and I could share "tight times" stories. It's very stressful to go through as probably a lot of us on this board have been through. Its not an excuse, its reality for many.

B.S. He gets paid for every signing you do for him. Instead of sending you your portion of the money and dealing with his own "tight times" with his portion of the money, he's using YOUR money to pay his bills and he really doesn't give a flying f**k about how you're supposed to pay your own bills.

Our "tight times" should be because our volume of work has decreased. It shouldn't be because somebody else is using our hard earned money to live on.

Funny, isn't it?
When ANYONE hits the nail on the head with this company, Paul shows up demanding "who" a poster is.
Then he goes on to complain that"whomever" never worked with him and blah, blah blah.
Cali, you hit the nail on the head and he doesn't like it.
So what. It's his choice, and he chooses to pay people whenev er he feels like it.
If he'd pay his subcontractors in a timely manner, all this ugliness would go away for him.

What a dips**t

Nobody should have to call your office to be paid. EVENTUALLY paying your notaries after sending them worthless checks and making them invest more time in chasing down their payment than the value of the payment they're actually getting means you're a DEADBEAT.

And you have the nerve to say "alright people enough". Maybe when you stop robbing people and develop the minimum amount of competence it takes to run a business people will stop posting nasty stuff about you. Until then you deserve to be continually exposed as the scum of the earth that you are.

Re: What a dips**t

So..after numerous hours this evening of trying to find out who this Cali Notary is I have finally figured it out..this persons name is Janet Lynch and her son Brian Lynch, which in the 17 years of our existence neither one of these people have not only not worked for me, but never has even been called by us, this women and her coward son have posted things about people for years, they need to be out lawed from this sight. Please read below, this is a post that i pasted from another notary post regarding these 2 idiots.

"Calinotary is Janet Lynch who teaches Ca. students to pass the our state exam for Ababcus.com and also teaches loan signing classes for the same company. She has attacked many of us on this website.

I am not about to post my real name with a link but I have posted a link on a number of occasions.
Janet stopped posting her real name approx 8-9 months ago when she became "Calinotary" and stopped posting on this website and also gomobilnotary."

Brian Lynch is her son.

BTW, I've gotten 5 private messages and 2 phone calls from this douchebag. I hung up on him when he called and deleted his voicemail without listening to it, like I really care what this crook has to say. But here are the PMs in case anyone is interested:

1 - you are an absolute idiot

2 - You are a coward...call me anytime idiot

3 - You have no clue what so ever...pick up the phone...love to talk with you!! PUNK

4 - Good Evening Janet and or Brian,

This is Paul Gambs and i have finally figured out who you are, i can tell you one thing, i promise if there is one more post regarding myself or my company from you or your son i will make it my lifes goal to make sure my lawyer goes after you and continues to do so until you are done!! This is not a threat, IT IS A PROMISE!!!!

5 - Brian,

This is Paul Gambs with Pacific Document Services, and as god as my witness if you ever post anything regarding myself or my company i am coming after you in away that you have never seen, i will make sure my lawyer takes you down at any cost.

So at least we've solved the mystery of why he's a deadbeat who continually sends bad checks to notaries. He's spending all his money having his lawyer harass people who give him hurty feelings on the internet!

Call your office and we will get paid? Did something change since you sent me the email on Monday 11/2 with your same story of why I haven't been paid my invoice that is over a year old and over $3000? If you do not have the funds to settle your account, I would not suggest posting false statements on public forums.

I still can not believe that people will work for this

company. Anyone that takes assignments for a deadbeat is only lining the pockets of the company.

It is illegal to send out bad checks. Why doesn't someone file suit? There is enough evidence on this board, alone, that checks have been sent out with non-sufficient funds. Additionally, I would be checking my 1099 with a "fine tooth comb" to make sure that all monies were paid to me that is listed that I earned. Maybe another path of recourse on this deadbeat company.

Just say no to this deadbeat!! BTW- I have never and will never work for this company. I check the rating of companies and would never accept an assignment based of the long list of notaries that this company has screwed. It does not matter that you make things right time after time of sending bad checks. The money is worthless after chasing it! Wise up people!!!!

Bounced Checks in CA are a BIG DEAL

In CA- bounced checks are a big NO-NO. You should contact your local DA, maybe some jail time will wise him up. (that's for anyone who as a NSF check from him).
Don't waste time listening to more excuses, do something about it!

I typically would not call the title company, to report this type of issue, but only as a last resort. Here I believe it is warranted. They need to know that this signing service is not paying the notaries. That is the only way to put them out of business for good, and can often help that check magically arrive.

Why do I care? I have never worked for Paul. Because I cannot stand to see small business owners like us taken advantage of, by people like him, with no business sense or scruples, whichever the case may be.

Karen-Do not give up on Paul paying you. I stand by my personal opinion of him and that is that he is a decent fellow and will eventually pay you if you are persistent. Ask him to pay you thru pay pay or by cashier's check and he will comply. Secondly, you stated that your invoice was from September 10th? It hasn't even been 30 days as yet. All this being said, I personally have chosen not to work for him any more because I don't have time to waste on calling to beg for payments. Good luck to you.

Ummm, hate to break it to you but that shows that he is NOT a decent fellow. A decent fellow would send a check out, with no prompting, within 30 days of the signing.

I'll bet in your world Michael Jackson was a decent fellow too, because he didn't molest most of the kids he came into contact with, only a few of them.
