Printer not working after Windows 7 upgrade

I upgraded to Windows 7 from Windows Vista. Now my Brother MFC-8220 will not print. It looks like Windows 7 and this particular Brother printer are not compatible. Looking at the Brother website, it "promises" to offer a WIndows 7 driver update download in early December.
Windows 7 also knocked out my NIC card with their driver. Hence, no Internet access. I had to reinstall the original driver back with my Dell computer recovery CD to recover Internet.
Just a warning about "Upgrading to Windows 7"!
MFC-8220 printer is still useless, but....thankfully, I do have another Brother, HL-5340D, which does run under Windows 7.
Whew!!

How Did You "Upgrade" from Vista?

Did you perform a "fresh" (format the hard drive) install or simply use the Windows 7 upgrade feature to try & retain all of your Vista settings?

Re: How Did You "Upgrade" from Vista?

I used to upgrade setting to retain all files and programs.

My Advice...

...would be to backup all of your critical files (removing them to a storage device or disk) ...format your hard drive & after completing the Windows 7 install, re-install all your programs & critical files. JMHO & see Glenn's comments above saying essentially the same thing.
