I'm in Seattle and happy to do any local signings for them, if this is their payment policy.....love that...I only hope their fee is equal to their payment policy! Thanks for the info.

Yes they pay a fair fee, exactly what I quoted them. Without an argument or looking for the cheapest they could get.

Re: NO I did not pay any $35.00 for anything
They found me. I did not pay to get any work from them at all. I do not know what Linda is talking about. They found me.

Maybe because they came to you for the signing
the waived the fee, but per their website:
"Registration: Simply fill out & provide the required information.
Please Note; There is a $35 admin fee that must be submitted at the time of registration. We accept Checks, Visa, MasterCard, Amex, and Pay Pal. "
That's what I'm talking about...

Re: Ummmm.....
I went to their website and called the owner, Mike, and asked him about his company. When the subject of payment came up, I told him my fee was XXX, to which he replied, "Our standard fee is $60 for a single package." He stated that most of their packages are overnighted. I didn't ask what they pay for e-docs because once I heard the $60 I thanked him for his time and got off the phone.
Their online sign-up form states that you have to pay a one-time $35 "administration fee." Mike did say that I didn't have to worry about paying the fee, but if collecting a $35 sign-up fee is their normal procedure, it tells me they're not making money from high signing volume....or at least that's what I'm assuming.
I don't know what the Signing Agent in Oregon was paid, but $60 is not the fee I'm looking for.

$35 for what....the privilege of working for them?
Give me a break.......we are performing a professional service and it seems ridiculous for us to pay to participate....Notary Rotary is well worth the money, as one signing a year pays for my premier membership and the support is above and beyond. I won't go out of my driveway for $60 so if this is what they want, I'll take a pass.

The docs were sent to the borrowers. Are we talking about the same company. Does not sound like it at all.

Somone posts a positive & then everyone needs to turn it into a negative. Comments in SC are great. If they always pay by paypal it might be worth $35 bucks not to have to chase your money. Did you pay the fee, Joanne?

Not trying to be negative...just a fact that they charge $35 to sign up with them..and did you read what Louis/AZ said? He spoke with them and they pay $60 for signings....is that worth the $35 now?

Marilynn, I called the company before I posted my response. The owner said their standard fee is $60. Are you saying you'll do a loan signing for $60?

Absolutely not. JoAnn didn't say anything about low fees. I won't take $60 signings, not even if I was paid cash on the spot.

It *is* nice that they pay ASAP...
I don't think any of us would argue with that. For that, this company deserves kudos.
But $60 for loan signing?
$60 might cover the NOTARY portion of the job... but not the signing agent part. (At least, by CA notary standards @ $10 a signature)
For general notary work, I can get $30-$60 or more, in cash, for appointments that often last less than 10-15 minutes with little prep work or follow-up required.
Why would I take $60 for a 45-90 minute loan signing that requires possible prep work and shipping of docs?

Re: JOANN
Yes, we're talking about the same company. I went to the company's website - the website you typed in your original post. I also stated in my first reponse that I wasn't sure what you were paid, but I thought I'd relay the information I obtained from my conversation with the owner. If you were paid in the three-digits, that's great, but Mike told me their standard fee is $60.
