How do you end up with so many non-paying companies, Tye? Don't you check them out in SC BEFORE you get burned?????

You may be on the road when you accept the assignment but before you print the docs you should be on the computer reviewing the confirmation and researching the company's track record. If they are deadbeats, then give the job back. Time is money and any time spent collecting from deadbeats just reduces your profit margin even further. There certainly are better things one can do with their time than chase after monies from deadbeats.
It isn't economically feasible, nor does it much good business sense to continually work for deadbeats.

And I never feel badly about giving a job back after accepting it if I discover poor payment history reported by my peers. If these SS don't want to have the problem of jobs being given back, then they simply need to pay their notaries on time.

Agree. If they can't demonstrate some loyalty, when or why should mine come into play?

IMO if you find the time to post when you have a collection issue, you could find the time to be more prudent in checking them out in the first place. I'm saying this because you are posting weekly the bad accounts you're dealing with.

Mr Rich as owed me for a total of 6 signings...dating back to all of june and one july...he called me in Sept to do one....told him he already owed me for 5 signings...he said he was trying to get caught up. I accepted the last signing on a "good faith" signing.....well burned again. I am a member of NNA...talked to them. They have a collection company that they work with, for 10 bucks I turned him in, I also turned him in to the BBB. After one month, I received checks for 4 of the 6 signing. This is the way you deal with companies that don't pay. 4 notary is the only company out of 25+ that I work with that I have issues on payment. Just letting you know my story. Good luck!!

Re: To My Friends:...My .02
I think it's unfair to post the name of *A* title company that this SS works for just because the SS hasn't paid - this may be the title company associated with your particular signing but it's not necessarily the title company's fault -
Northpoint Escrow and Title may be a very good company with a very unreliable SS working for them..
