1st call from Nations Direct

I just got a call from Nations Direct for a signing that's an hour's drive away. They need someone there at 6:00 and called me at 4:15. I asked what they plan to pay, and got, "We pay $60 for edocs."

Now, I may consider $60 for edocs if I have 3 or 4 hours to get ready to go 10 miles or less. But to expect me to rush to print docs, drive and be ready to sign with less than an hour and a half notice??? When I stated my fee, I got the usual, "I'll see if I can get that approved." LOL

They'll probably find someone who is just getting off work for the day and wants the "extra" money. 'Course that person might use their employer's ink, paper, etc., and only have the expense of gas, so it would probably be worth it to them.

$60 w/edocs is an insult. They are the worst lowballers. You're right in that those will take it undercut the whole industry.

that's less than half the fee for something around the corner; let alone an hour drive away. - -geesh.

I received a call from them this past week as well. When I was informed of $60, I told them I couldn't do it less than xxx. They of course, said - we don't pay that much. My answer to them, I can't and won't accept their fee. Told them to find someone else who would work for that low - if they never call again with a ridiculous fee, I'll turn them down again. I do need the work and I enjoy the work - but I work to make a living of my own, not someone else's.

That's good - "Do Not Answer". Actually, that would apply to several companies.

When Nations Direct comes up in my caller ID, I don't even bother answering the phone.

If they are offering such low fees to NSA's, its because

they're horrible at negotiating their own fees to either the TC or lender.

At least this is another way of seeing it - bad business decision making on their part.

I agree, I have turned down 6 jobs with them. All they wanted to pay was $40, that is an insult. But someone is doing it or this company would change there fee structure. I have gotten them only twice to pay $85 w/edocs emailed. Trying to get the message out to as many notaries as I can about them.
