Beware...

We should all be cognizant of the fact that even good SS are going out of business. I worked for one that paid in 30 days or less. I have been told that this person has had some personal issues. I know that I will be paid.

I will not divulge the name because this person does not deserve his/her name to be dragged through the mud.

So you're going to let the rest of us find out when the

It's a shame. These are really tough times for many. I've heard that the ss are fiercely competing for what business is out there, and are having to bid low to get it. IMO you did a good thing by not disclosing the name.

I’m confused. I received the email as well. I am out for three assignments and have one bounced check from him today. This person just scheduled a signing from me on the 21st and today he sees the light? He is just now realizing this or trying to make some last minute pocket change? The email is lame.

I talked to him today. I am willing to give him the benefit of the doubt as I have worked for him for a long time.

Actually this person sent a heartfelt email to all the affected notaries. It was a letter that took a very big person to write.

The SS has had a great reputation.

Re: Beware...of feeling too much-

I once gave Paige Tiffany, the benefit of the doubt, she was so sincere, in explaining all her troubles and gave me every assurance of paying me, (I had always been paid in the past, by her) including leading me to believe she was a "real" devout God-fearing woman, so I took a chance, and she burned me. Do not let your personal feelings cloud your judgement. I pray that you do get paid.

Re: Beware...of feeling too much-

I got burned by Paige, too. "If you could just wait until..." She actually gave me a date when they would be caught up. (She claimed to be a victim of embezzlement, which may have been true. Don't know.) The check never came, of course. I was very sad to see that happen, because at the time, she was considered one of the "good guys".

Re: Beware...of feeling too much-

Paige stiffed me too. Lied to me, then ripped me off. She was paid $350 by the lender, I got squat. That's okay, what goes around comes around. Every dog has their day. I'm watching these signing services like a hawk. I will not tolerate being stiffed by these seat of their pants services every again.

Re: Beware...of feeling too much-

Yep, Paige pulled me in too. What a shame that all was. She used to give me a lot of business and the pay was fair.

Personally, I don't take that chance any more. When check's not in my hot little hand by the 31st day, I start emailing, calling and posting. Paige Tiffany at Eleventh Hour Signings and Bobby Im at Notary Connection have been the only ones to burn me.

As everyone else on this forum, I work hard to earn my fees. Non-payment is not acceptable!

Why are you even bothering to state the obvious? If the "person" doesn't know how to run a business, and his or her "personal issues" are going to negatively impinge on his/her business dealings, then we all deserve to know, or don't bring up the subject.

Exactly Scriba/MN.....

Why does anyone CARE about personal issues or heartfelt messages? Does your mortgage company or your credit card company or your car payment company care if your write them a heartfelt message? The answer is NO. I do not understand why so many notaries feel that it is OK to be jerked around and not paid? It just baffles my mind!!!

Maybe I am just waiting for my chance for someone to care about my woes? Oh wait a minute....I pay my bills and I am financially responsible. Guess maybe that is my issue with all of this BS. Perhaps I should add....that I am real scared to not be financially responsible. That is a path that I have never walked down and have no intentions too.

This is the major difference....these jerk off companies loose nothing personally. They walk away with all the money and they still have all their personal credit in tact. It is their business that failed....not themselves personally. Do you really think that they have not paid their mortgage? You can bet they did....with YOUR money that they owe you!!!!!!!!!

To sum this post up.

I hope to get mine first and then I'll share the name with the rest of you.

Gee thanks.

Your profile says that you are "ProfessionaL" So why don't you act that way and treat this business likewise. It's people like you who embolden the crooks in this business to try to cheat hardworking notaries out of their deserved pay. You are the reason I have to waste my time chasing signing services for my payments.

So why even post anything about it? Your post was pretty worthless, and only causes fustration among your peers.

Just wanted to say this is not me, or anyone associated with my SS. We still pay our contract Notaries on a weekly basis. Regardless of whether the loan closes or the borrower refuses to sign or the signing is rescheduled. If you go we pay. If you print, and don’t go we pay a print fee. If I buy a new pair of shoes, or have an unexpected bill, or go to dinner, we still pay. We try and pay a fair fee, it’s difficult, as our greatest expense is our notary fees that we always pay, something many of our competitors don’t do.

We always pay as well

Here at Roaming Shades Business Services we have always paid our notaries as well. In addition to paying our notaries we provide excellent customer service to everyone involved on our end, the signing agent, the borrower and the client, not necessarily in that order.

It has been difficult over the past year, but we still have the gloves on.

hard times for all of us

I dont know if anyone will get this post as it has been a week or so since the last post...I personally know the person who is being posted about. I worked with his company from the beginning. Due to some very difficult personal issues as well as bad economic conditions, meaning not getting enough work, he is now trying to pay any and all notaries that may be owed money out of his own pocket. He is an honest person, a person of credible reputation. He is doing his best to make sure that all his debts to the notaries are paid. It may take some time but he will do as he promises as he is also a man of his word.

Times are hard for everyone, even the companies that hire us. I think that if a company makes an effort or at least lets you know that they are going out of business, or will be late in paying or gives you something instead of like some companies that just leave you in the cold without any notification or call back or explanation....the good ones have to be given a chance.

I also will not post the name of the person or his company because i have seen all to often how people are attacked on here and he does not deserve those kinds of attacks. I have posted in the past companies that deserve a bad review or even bad post but this is not one of them. You can trust that if this was the case with this situation I would post the name.
