Re: I must be blind...
Direct Settlements is the title company that did the loan closing for the lender (All State Mortgage) Todaro Notary is the signing service that got me to close the loan.
All State Morgage - Raided by FBI Direct Settlements - title company for All State Mortgage Todaro Notary - Hired by title company to get notary Me (Notary) - no pay for 7 closings

Okay...now I have to ask
Was Direct Settlement the title company on all 7 of the closing you did? (I'm almost afraid of this answer)..

Just a few. But this is unbelivable that lenders are going down again. Here we go again!!!The differance this time is the loan in insured by FHA vs Privite Insuance. The governments balance sheet is buying up most of the loans vs wall street.

It's "All State Home Mortgage of Euclid Ohio"
It's "All State Home Mortgage of Euclid Ohio" not "All State Mortgage"

Re: Okay...now I have to ask
Have you contacted all the title companies of the 7 loans that aren't paid yet? Do you know if they were paid or not paid by the mortgage company? Before writing this off I'd want to know if Todaro was paid and is just giving me a bunch of lies to cover her backside. And, if she's still in business but the title companies find out she's not paying her notaries, then they might reconsider doing business with her and choose to hire you directly.

This must be part of the mortgage fraud sweep that's going on in Ohio. If I remember correctly, Direct Settlements is in Pittsburgh, PA. Whether Todaro gets paid or not is their business concern, not yours. They owe you the money! Granted, if everyone got caught up in the Ohio fraud thing, you might have trouble collecting.

This raid was in the news here in north east ohio. The city of Cleveland is in a big political mess with the city auditor accused of some very serious fraud. Many people are going down due to this. He has been accused of inflating property values on homes of family, friends and his own properties. This has been just some of the negative things going on in this area..Needless to say this area is bad shape..
