HELP Now! MortgageDocs
If you've done work recently for this company, I need your help. I'm downloading docs for a closing tonight and one of the PDFs is password protected. I can't figure out the password. Any ideas? I can't reach anyone at the office.

Re: HELP Now! MortgageDocs - Password
Just in case this happens to someone else in the future, I'm going to document how this gets resolved.
There are about 4 documents (PDF) that need to be downloaded from the site. Three of the docs open and print w/o any trouble. The lender docs requested a password. It is not the same password that you use to get into the site. I emailed [e-mail address] & made a note in the "comment" section of the website that I was running into difficulty. I received a phone call within 15 minutes from someone I'd equate to be a Help Desk rep. I'm now waiting for the rep to get back to me.

Re: HELP Now! MortgageDocs - Password
Look for the password on the bottom of their website page where the docs are downloaded.

Re: HELP Now! MortgageDocs - Password
Thanks to those who responded. I double-checked emails sent to me. No code. I double-checked the entire website page - no code. I did hear back from Help Desk. He stated the password should have been included in the comment section on the website. It may have been overlooked. I am waiting to hear from the client manager.

Re: HELP Now! MortgageDocs - Password
Hope you get it done, Michelle. Don't know the company so can't offer anything. I've had something similar happen and the only thing I know to do is get on the phone and call all the contacts until you get it resolved. I think the last one I had I had title just email me the docs and we skipped that part on the website.

Thanks, John. From what I can tell from the Help
Desk rep., this is not the first time this has happened to a notary. I'm kicking myself for not printing earlier. But due to several reasons (unable to contact BO until late) I didn't want to print to early in case of a cancellation.
I'm still waiting to get the code. Hmmmm....not sure how this is going to pan out.

Michelle: In the future, use this tip from me
I open and download to my computer, print when all confirmations are made. That way it is done when company reps are around for problem solving, and on my computer for access when I'm ready.
Breathe deeply - since others have had this problem, not really yours to fret about.

Thanks, jba/fl.
I really like your suggestion about saving to my computer ahead of time and will start doing that.
Strangely enough I'm not freaking out totally. I guess experience teaches you that worrying doesn't do a lot of good. I've kept the BO informed. She's been great.

Get a human being at Mortage Docs and tell
them to get find someone that can email you the missing docs, period. If they can't do it, tell them there's nothing you can do without a full set of docs. Yes, it's THEIR ERROR, but that doesn't help you get this closed. When there is an error, I call every freakin contact I can call until someone gets me what I need, until I see it's not worth the effort. You may be in that category now if you can't get them to either provide the code or email you the docs. Definitely a judgment call on your part at any point in time you think this closing has washed out for tonight. As long as you're getting a person on the phone to answer your calls, you're still in the game.
Keepin my fingers crossed for you!

John, you'd make a great manager. Will you hire me
if I'm ever in need of a job? I want to be on your team!!

Error on their part, IMHO.
Nothing you can do to fix it...'til you get the code!

True @ Brenda. I think I'll ask the BO
(I told her I'd update her at 8:15 with a status.) if she has her loan officer's name and cell phone number. I'll see if I can't talk to him. Perhaps he has the home phone number of someone in Title.

Loan Officer to the rescue!
I was able to get the cell phone # for the loan officer. She had the code and docs opened w/o any trouble. Of course this made me triple check my email inbox to make sure I didn't overlook anything. Nothing. If I find out I'm wrong I'm going to post it here because I do not want it to appear that I wasn't provided the code if, in fact, I had.
Well....I'm off! Thank you Tess, Brenda, John, jba/fl, and the guy who sent me a pm (i forgot your name - sorry). While you could not tell me the code (smile) you tried to help me and that meant (and still means) a lot to me.

Thumbs up--above and beyond. Credit to our profession. Too bad your dedication won't earn you more than a feeling of satisfaction at a job well done, but I bet you tired face will have a smile on it when you finally get to sleep.
