NNA no longer offering ENS

I signed up, took the training, bought the t-shirt last year for ENS. I never did anything with it because I couldn't actually figure out how to use it and nobody seemed to care much. I have been contacted recently by SafeDocs so I was looking into renewing the ENS. I rec'd this e-mail today in answer to my inquiry. Is this old news? I may have missed it because I was not paying attention.

The NNA is no longer offering the Electronic Notary Signature(r)
(ENS(r)) products due to recently uncovered technical challenges of offering this technology product. The challenges are related to the fact that there continue to be no unified standards, with each state having unique requirements. Also, the speed of advances in computing power are making various technologies obsolete, creating a financial burden on the Notaries.

Please look to your NNA member publications for future updates and information on the ENS(r) Program. NNA continues to be committed to and support the advance of secure electronic notarization. As a membership organization, we can be more effective and supportive of the needs of our members by focusing on educating Notaries and advocating for safe and reliable notarial practices.

I want a refund. Smile

Oops! I did see the Webinar post by BarbaraL until after I made my post. It is the same seminar that sent me looking for the renewal.

A refund is very appropriate. I wonder how many thousands of notaries were duped with this "state of the art" technology due to sweep the entire nation. Every annual NNA National conference has touted this technology as the leading edge. Ridiculous.

Just shows that they are nothing more than a money making machine without any real value to notary public education or standards of professionalism.
