National Vendor Solutions - Bad bad bad

I just went to close a loan for these yahoos and the borrower didnt have a valid ID it expired 6 years ago,. I explained i could not accept it and wold not be able to close the loan. I then called the lender team they required me to call and they sat there and tried to guilt me into closing this because we are just trying to help out veterans was what I was told. Then when i called NVS back to let them know (hoping they would back me) they told me I was wrong and that a 6 year expired id was an acceptable form of ID for this lender. Lender schmender Im talking about what the law states. She then told me that I would not get paid for this and that I was out because they would never call me back again. That is fine with me. They dont allow you to call prior to closing the loan so i was not able to tell the borrower that i needed a valid ID. I am half tempted to call someone and report these people with the way they treated me. Augh what a way to ruin a Sat!!!

Re: National Vendor Solutions

You said, "They dont allow you to call prior to closing the loan so i was not able to tell the borrower that i needed a valid ID." I would never accept an assignment under this condition ... not only for the reason leading to your problem, but also because Connecticut is a "Witness State"; I need to make sure the borrower(s) can provide the required second witness. I will always make that call, even when the service tells me they have covered the ID and witness requirements. I have found in a number of cases where this was not done.

Their "procedures" are precarious. No phone calls to borrower--no copies of ID required by lender.
It's all streamline VA refi business with high fees (most going to ARM's--the only way to sell a lower rate & payment). Robert is ok to deal with. I did one the other week, arrived & told by an irritated borrower that they had cancelled early in the day (never advised ss or me). I broke my rule of NEVER going on an appt. I haven't confirmed & it won't happen again. Good for you for not bending the rules & accepting expired ID. I can tell you of some major lenders who will accept it (even for RM's). As notaries, of course, we can't.

One exception ...

to not going to the appointment without prior confirmation with borrower: Agreement ... in writing from the hiring service ... to full payment of my fee if for ANY reason the signing is not completed: No show; Borrower declines to sign; No currently valid ID; No second witness, etc. It often doesn't happen, but it has a couple times.

I did a closing for them last Fri.. and here is my bad experience with NVS.
I drove 25 miles to find out that Mrs was not available and Mr didn’t know if she was coming back during the day. I called NVS and I was instructed to call Lender.. I called Lender and LO called Mr just to receive the same explanation.. I called back NVS and I received instructions to leave the premises.. I asked about the fee that they will pay to cover travel time, mileage/printing fee and I was informed that it will be half of the regular fee ($50.00). As soon as I got home Mr called to let me know that Mrs was at home and ready to sign. I went back thinking that NVS will pay me the $50 plus the regular fee of $100..(my mistake).. to make this story short.. NVS will only pay me $125.00 for two trips (86 miles rt), two-hour closing (BO called his LO several times to clarify matters)… I’m a very busy Notary in this area and will not allow companies like NVS to abuse me. So, this was my last business with NVS.. After having an argument with “Stacie” I requested to have my name removed from their database.

Yeah I told her to remove my name from their list also after a few other words after she told me I didnt know what I was talking about. She also told me that a Electric Bill is a valid form of ID and she knows this because she is a paralegal and a signing agent. I am half tempted with the way they treated me to report them to someone (i dont know who that someone would be) for shady lending practices .. I have 2 other loans i closed for them recently I hope i get paid for.... Dont anyone learn their lessons after this mess our country is in .. I have not ran into this problem in awhile... I guess most of the bad brokers/agents/lenders/etc had been weeded out with this mess we are in but they are proof that bad practices still exist...

Was she possibly talking about a secondary form of ID for their Patriot Act form? I know they accept just about anything on those forms for secondary form of ID - utility bills, tax bills, etc., etc. Now if she meant it as a primary source of ID for the notary? Well, they DO monitor these boards and I hope she reads it because if that's what she meant she should be ashamed of herself...she claims to be a signing agent so she's a notary -she should turn her commission in if she thinks an electric bill is valid ID for the notary.

As to the last part of the above quote, they're not the lender, so "shady lending practices" don't come into play IMO....

In any event....they're all located in Florida, so there's a good head start for you if you really would like to report them to someone.

My .02 FWIW
Just a thought.

One exception is that DL's don't have an expiration for military in many states.

Isn't that "no expiration" for active military? And just because someone is a veteran or takes out a VA loan doesn't mean they have military ID...

That's strange - my military Id card has my signature on it.

My opinion of National Vendor Solutions is that it is a horrible company.Went to a closing 5/16 that was scheduled for 10 AM. arrived there at about 9:30 AM and was told by the borrower's wife that she was too busy and unable to close that day. I advised her that I realized I wa early and would wait to accomodate her any way I could. She was quite nasty and stated she was not going to close that day. I called the owner of National Vendor Solutions and told him of the situation and was told by him not to worry and that I would be paid full fee. About 1-2 hours later he called and asked if I could go back. I told him I was busy and unable to do that. The upshot of this deal is that he never paid and when I called to ask for payment he exploded on the phone at me and stated that he was quite angry that i bothered him on 5/16 by calling him on his birthday weekend and thus, I wasn't getting paid. Not a way to run a business.

this company did me the same way!!! I don't know about you but I'm reporting them to somebody. They wasted my gas, time, and effort. You can't be nice to some people when you're "doing right by the law". Wish I would've known this sooner!!!!!
