Nations Direct, still low balling, but someone is taking
I have had 4 calls today from Nations Direct, 2 signings they wanted me to do for 60.00 and one for 30.00--all edocs, and the other we didn't get to a price because they wanted the background check. I told them no way, and what my minimum fee was, they of course said they would get it approved and call back, well they didn't, so someone in my area is taking these 60.00 closings. I know there is nothing I can do about the Notaries that will actually work for this fee, but it just irritates me.

Cheap fees
I have NO idea why ANY notary would accept these fees.....WHY DON'T THEY GET IT? Maybe they are not the same notaries on NR.......but they are certainly ruining it for the rest of us......I want my CW days back when I was getting $225 and $325 (80/20) a signing.....Calgon, take me away........

Same thing happened to me yesterday. Got a call for a closing for tonight at a ridiculously low fee. I declined when we couldn't reach an agreeable price. Since they didn't call back I assume someone else took it. But this morning a title company called me to do a signing in the same time slot and they agreed to my reasonable regular fee. Someone else took the lowball and eliminated themselves from being available for a paying job. Worked out well for me! Its all how you look at it...the glass can be half full. Oh, Gotta go, docs are coming over and I don't want to be late for the good paying job. Some poor sucker's losing money tonight.

Remember Nations Direct only gets $150 per signing…They have to make some profit !!! Try and remember that when you accept a $45 signing from them !

I did a signing for them, one page to notarize. It was for a timeshare out of Florida. I was to pick up docs (sent to them) and witness them signing just the deed. I was suppose to get there at 4:30 and they should be finishing up with the timeshare co. telling them where to sign and etc. on speaker phone. When I get there they are just starting. I had to sit there for 30 min. helping show them where to sign and initial. Then wait while they decide what credit card to use to make downpayment. It took about 40 min. I will never do that again. It would have made more sense to wait and just call them when they were done since they weren't far away. I thought about leaving and then coming back but that would look unprofessional. Anyone have this happen?

Only getting $150...........
THE NOTARY should be getting $150......for each and every signing I have a smile on my face, but I would REALLY have a smile on my face if this industry paid their notaries a flat $150 for straight refinances.....Yep, a big ol smile.

Re: Only getting $150...........
That really should be our minimum. I tell ND I’ll download/print/travel/close/and return the package for $125, they can keep $25 for the phone call. Alas… others in my area think they (ND) deserve more.

Re: Only getting $150...........
All great points of course, I would add:
Extra fees apply for - faxbacks, wait for approval to send, hand holding and micro-management of my services...

When everyone says no, ND pays $100+ or sends back to TC
If you only have a dozen competitors, tell them this.

Not only are their fees ridiculous...you have to fax back practically the entire package...then wait for their approval before you can drop...forget it !!
