NotaryPro
Had several calls from this company to do loan mods. Their payment record looks pretty bad. Has anyone actually been paid by them?

Might want to check your state's law regarding collecting money. The one they wanted me to do involved collecting check for upfront fees which is illegal here in VA. Just a thought.

Now illegal to collect money up front in CA, too.

You may just want to say NO anyway. I have heard that some are saying there are no up-front fees and having a notary go out and execute the paperwork; while the borrower has paid on a credit card or will wire or send funds after the fact. Your name will still be attached to the file. JMO.

SS name not associated with the file--your name is. SS didn't collect any money--you did. Same way they can easily say 'oh, and we need you to backdate this'. Their heads are not on the block.

I did work for them years ago whitout a problem. Lately, looked like they change managers and really did change in all. I did a closing for them and was with Provident. My mistake, they do not want to pay a cent. I guess it could be just a pretext for keeping the fees.

NotaryPro used to have Quicken contract
Did a lot of Quickens for them in the past. Quick, easy, fast pay and seemed to have their act togeather. They apparently lost that contract and seem to have been struggling to keep work. I have recieved several calls to do the loan mod apps and have turned them all down. IMHO when they started accepting this kind of work they had hit bottom.

Re: NotaryPro used to have Quicken contract
I told them the same thing when they called me and then had an email discussion with Michelle Williams the Operations Director - her comments were that's where the business was headed and they had to go with it to stay in business. Sure is a shame because they were a good co. to work for.

They are a good company to work for. I simply say "no" to the loan mods because I don't have the time or money to go to court.
