Okay...call me confused (again)

I thought I'd read that the NNA was stopping, or curtailing, their e-notarization program...I just got an e-mail from "info@safedocsus dot com" asking me to click on a link for "NNA, Notary Oppoutunity Information"...as follows (links removed for security)

"Please click here to confirm your subscription to electronic-notarizations:

This is a joint opportunity from the National Notary Association and Safedocs. If you select to join the list you will be sent an invitation to view a free informational webinar on this new income opportunity.

If you do not want to join, do nothing. You will be automatically removed.

I don't know who sent the request to add my e-mail address but it wasn't me...came in the spam folder too..

Anyone else get it?

I got it too, also in my spam folder.

Yes, I got it, too. I did not request this either, and I deleted it as soon as I read it. Maybe Safedocs is using an email list from the NNA to promote their products and instead of the NNA promoting their own anymore they are receiving compensation for the use. ???

Anyway, I don't think I'm interested.

trnsa_IL I think you're correct..I thought I read this on

an earlier post...they were curtailing or eliminating their NNA involvement because not all states participate in e-closings....something like this....

I got it too but I'm a member until Feb 2010. Then I'm done with them.

Yes, I got it & it made me angry.

Looks like the NNA is selling their mailing list. For an organization so concerned with identity theft, they used membership info for a third party emailing. We don't even have e-notarization in VA! Once again, they are pushing their agenda. It makes me furious!!!!

That's just it though...my "certification"

expired over a year ago (Like BobbiCT says my brain died a year ago.<G>Wink, my BGC expired just a year ago, and my membership expired in April - I shouldn't be on any of their lists any more...

Except billing - I still get bills for my membership renewal..

Now you don't really think they'll delete your name from their lists, do you? I never knew they were going to be like a disease & impossible to get rid of. I think it would be interesting if some notaries contacted them & say their info had been violated.

No e-notarizations in my state either. Deleted.

I got it and deleted it immediately. I don't think it came from the NNA and didn't want to click on something unless I am absolutely positive I know where is comes from. Those emails that say...just click here to confirm, no way. I am very careful these days about what I open on my computer. You just never know where they are coming from.

I got it also and along with some, are a little miffed that we are still in their database. I haven't been a member for over 2 years.

I got it, too... and funny enough, I let my membership expire in September. I wasn't going to... but they annoyed the crud out of me with the constant renewal reminders. Every few days for two months! Icky.
