Webinar on "Digital Workflow Solution"
I just sat thru a webinar put on by Safedocsus in conjunction with XYZ. I also just read Msg #305907 regarding digital notarizations in PA and XYZ's stand. Just wondering if anyone else attended this webinar and what your thoughts are. Personally, I believe it is a sales tactic by both. I do not believe that digital docs are the "way to go" yet. Do you?

I didn't attend the webinar, but it's not just in PA, Barb - my understanding was NNA was no longer going to offer and/or support e-notarizations anywhere. Based on that, it was my thought when I got the safedocus e-mail that they were basically taking over where NNA left off as far as offering a platform to notaries for e-notarizations. Maybe I misunderstood.

Let me just say I will not be investing $390.00 anytime soon, I will however watch, wait, listen and observe but no small investment at this time. I enjoyed the presenation, however.

Re: $390???
35 dollar monthly fee, you pay 3 months in advance, a 125 fee and additional 125 fee. I lost my notes or I would give you the break down, you get a 10 % discount. I will look for my notes. You can go to their web site and look over the details, I'm sure. The presentation was informative and I may very well join in the near future but need more time to observe, I don't jump into things quickly when it involves dollars.

Re: $390???...thank you...
that's nice of you and I appreciate it
Considering I've NEVER had a request for e-notarization in the three years I've been here...and only ONE request for e-signing - I won't be forking out the $390 either...

The key thing to keep in mind is how quickly can you regain
your investment?
It's fun to have lots of technology but there's no industry yet (in my knowledge) which has established a platform to utilize the technology. The way I understand it, it's like having a fax machine in 1975...you could fax like a madhatter but not many places would be able to receive it. Until there's a definite receiver platform for certain industries/business groups, the e-notarization, IMHO, is a lot of investment for little or no return.
The time is coming, but it's not now, the way I see it. Legal, mortgage and title need to decide what platform they will be accepting and then it will be time to invest. The best plan? Start saving $25 to $100 a month into a special little account until you have accumulated $500-$1,000 and hold onto it and wait. When the "receiving ends" decide on a platform you'll be poised ready to capture the technology when the investment will start giving a return.

I'm not investing in it either. The breakdown is: $35/mo billed every 4 months ($35 x 12 = $420/yr) $125 for training $125 for branding your business (optional) TOTAL = $670

Sounds like their latest "got to have it" gimmick to make more $$$$$$ for XYZ.
