What IS the role of the SS?
On three different occasions, I've been called about jobs; accepted only to find out later that the job was double booked.
I'm not going to name, names. BUT, except for the scheduling what is the role of the SS? Often; although not always it's a totaly useless first response call if you need assistance during an off hours signing.
I hope some SS companies chime in here...

Re: Many SS do much more than schedule.
And there is why I asked.
I'm NOT slamming the SS industry. I am seeking knowledge, and since I haven't been in this business very long I'm sencere. Since I already know they bid for signings, and schedule...please enlighten me to what other services they provide.
SS?

I can only respond to my purpose. That is to be the contact person for my clients (mortgage companies/title companies/notaries). I work with people who liked the convenience of one point of contact for after hours situations. I am ALWAYS available to my clients and the notaries that I work with. I am available for any questions that may come up at the table. I am the middle person to protect all parties involved. If their is a problem I have contact numbers to get someone on the phone asap. Our purpose is to provide solutions to all parties involved. Keeping it a quick and simple closing process.
