Alabama Notaries - Check Your Mail for Conference Info
Well, it's official. The AL SOS is hosting its first Notary Public Conference on Thursday, 10/1 from 9:00 - 12:30 pm in Montgomery. It's the first time they've done something like this (according to the letter). Here's an excerpt:
"....Every notary in Alabama has a legal duty to know stte notary laws, standards of
reasonable care for every notary act and to ensure that notarizations are performed
to protect against document fraud by ensuring that signatures are genuine".

Great! Maybe Alabama will start requiring training and end up with some well trained, educated, and better prepared notaries public who can do thorough jobs (and know more about what we should be doing).
