Foreign Notary

Does anyone have a sample form of notary for a document being sent to a foreign country?

Diane,

The notary certificate, as prescribed by Florida statute, is the same, no matter what country the document is being sent to. I think what you are asking for is an Apostille or Certification of Authority, which are documents prepared by the Florida Department of State - Division of Corporations - Apostille Certification section. Do a Google search for Florida Apostille and you will find numerous sites, including mine, and the FL Dept of State, that describe the process. I'm sure somewhere amongst them, you will find a sample. If not, email me (see my profile) and I will send you one.

I also make sure that I use my embosser along with my stamps if it is going out of the country--belt and suspenders, you know.

Me too, Maureen. The courtesy of an embosser is

always appreciated by people who need to send items out of the country. I keep an embosser even though it is not required for Texans.

I even go one step further:

I place a 2" saw-toothed gold notary seal under my embossed seal. A "touch of class" which is also appreciated by my client. The only thing missing are a couple small red, white and blue ribbons hanging from below.

The document is going to be notarized in a foreign country - not here.
