Just for kicks...

Remember the height of subprime and the closing fees? 5 years later look how much has changed. $75-90 is fairly average whereas before $150-$200 was average. Wonder how many other industries have had to reduce their fees by almost 50% in just a short amount of time. Wonder how we're going to turn this trend around??

So just for kicks... what was your highest fee paid? About 4 years ago Ameriquest once offered me $600 to travel 75 miles on the last day of the month to close a loan for an on-air DJ at 11:00 pm.

What's the lowest fee you've been offered for a full refi? Has to be MDA's offer today of 46.00.

The lowest I've been offered is $40. for a single re-fi which I refused, of course. Now, the best deal for me was $150. to drive 30 miles each way to get two money orders signed and return them to the title company. The notary for the original purchase signing neglected to notice they were not signed by the buyer.

I think my lowest was $60 (RESPA) and highest was $350 (lots of hassles with docs, borrower read every pages, etc.--great company paid me a double fee that I didn't even ask for).

Lowest offer: $50 for a full refi, 2004, I declined the "offer".
Highest offer: $500 for an EOM 11 PM closing 75 miles south of me, also in 2004.
I accepted that one.

$500, two re'fis two banks 30 miles apart June 09

lowest is always and continuously ND but I don't accept. I really feel for the poor souls that work there, constant rejection. In this job market you don't dare quit.

Best was 2005 $480 normal refi. 60 miles from home, cancelled day before and they paid double next day w/o me saying anything...made my day. Worst was $25 for local loan mod. in 2004

Just had a nice surprise yesterday from a SS that I did a Provident purchase closing for on Thursday...they called and said that the LO and others were so pleased and impressed with the work I did (even though they waived a ton of faxbacks so package could ship out) that they were going to pay an additional $25.00 to me for the closing...this was a first and really made me glow.
