Loan Mods by Text
I have received several texts on my mobile from: loanmod-gov.net The telephone # of 5622432976 is not set up to receive calls. Anyone know how I can get them to quit texting? Is this even legal?

When I did a google search on the number, this came up:
http://www.numberinvestigator.com/562243
Seems it also belongs to debtreliefusa.net. It's a telemarketing number which is probably why it isn't set up to receive calls. Maybe if you go their website and get their physical address you can send a certified letter telling them to cease and desist from texting you.
Or maybe you could call your cell phone service provider asking them if there is any way to stop these people from texting you.

Thanks, I looked at website and could not find an address. I am assuming this is a mass texting project because my loan is pretty decent.

I keep getting a text message about buying foreclosed homes. I called AT&T and asked them if there was some way to stop this (since the telephone number was only 5 or 6 digits) and she said I could block all text messages for $ a month. Well, I get two a month at a cost of 40 cents so the 6.75 a month didn't appeal to me.

Texting is an all or nothing service, AFAIK - you either accept text messages, or you don't. I don't think there's any way they can be selectively blocked.
Verizon charges me $5/mo for 250 messages, and I do use them regularly in my business, so it makes sense for me right now - otherwise, I can go "a la carte" at 10 cents a message. If I didn't need them at all, I could just tell them to turn off the feature. This is the first time I've heard of a company charging you a monthly fee to NOT use a feature, but why am I not surprised...
