Most bizarre phone call today..
Lady calls me from State of Texas....she did a google search for Titlestream (who she knows is out of business) and saw my name (not sure why but that's beside the point)....wants to know what to do - her mother has a reverse mortgage on her property (further questions reveal it was a reverse mortgage for a purchase) however the Warranty Deed was never recorded - her mother doesn't own the property! She doesn't know what to do...
I suggested she call a Texas title company or Texas attorney to help her research what happened and help straighten it out. Loan was from Financial Freedom and she said they're working on it for her but she wants to get things moving..
Still shaking my head.

That is bizarre. Why didn't she call the lender? If it's an FHA insured loan, she could also contact the HUD office.

Talk about a bizarre phone call. Last night I went to bed
early (for me anyway) at 9:45pm. At 10:15pm phone rings. Guy wants to know if I can notarize a couple things for him. I told him I was available all day Wed. He said he needed it tonight as he has to be in court at 9am. Hubby rolls over and asks who it is and between the 3 of us we decided he could come to our house. Would have never done that if hubby wasn't home. I get up drousy because I had taken nyquil to help me sleep because of a sinus infection. I get dressed, yes completely dressed not just a robe. He gets here and he is all dressed in a suit, driving a mercedes, huge rings on fingers. I ID him, he signs and I notarize. Hardly any words spoken. He pulls out this huge wad of cash and throws $50 bucks on the table and left. Just glancing over the docs it is a discrimination lawsuit for a strip club he owns. I think I had a real pimp in my house. Hubby was really funny when I came back to bed and told him. He said he paid me to get Dressed instead of Undressed. lol It pays to do general notary work sometimes.

Re: Talk about a bizarre phone call. Last night I went to bed
I just finished a phone call from an elderly woman who is a shut in. Her daughter in law called me and asked me to call her. The poor thing disconnected me 3 times! It would take her the longest time each time to realize she was disconnected. I am going there tomorrow am. This should be interesting.

ROFL! You'll have a great story to tell for a long time to come. I'll bet he's very accustomed to throwing a $50 on the table & leaving. hahehehe

Re: Talk about a bizarre phone call. Last night I went to bed
Hey Linda
If you have a sinus infection, you might want to take something to kill the infection and try something else to be able to breathe clearly without putting more man-made chemicals in your body. I've used eucalyptus oil for a few years now and have had to take a DM cough syrup only once. The oil can be purchased at most health food stores and is relatively inexpensive. (Less than $10.00) Place the oil on your sinus cavities. In case someone doesn't know where the sinus cavities are - there are 3 pair of 2. One pair is halfway between your hairline and the top of your eyebrow even with your pupil, another pair is directly below your pupil on the high part of your cheekbone and the other pair is in the "small indentations" on the back of your scalp, in your hairline.

Ever try a neti(sp?) pot?
I not a sufferer of sinusitis, but I do have allergy problems. I thought about getting a neti pot but haven't ever found one, the few times I've remembered to look. Supposedly it helps to keep you sinuses clear and can be helpful for allergies as well as preventing infections. You basically just use it to flush out your sinuses, I believe with a warm saline solution. (There's lots of info available online about them. I'm sure I could order one online, too.)

Re: Ever try a neti(sp?) pot?
If this is the same thing, I saw this on Oprah one day when Dr. Oz was on her show. You pour it in one nostril, it goes up into your sinus cavity, and comes out the other nostril, thus flushing out any "stuff" in there and keeping it clear. Apparently daily use really works for helping with allergies. Oprah had several people on who said they were skeptical but had been using it, and found that it really worked and they couldn't be happier.

Just wondering here, is it ok to notarize while drowsy and on Nyquill......could we ever be called out on something like that?
