Kirstin Nicole came into this world at 9:34pm

7 lb, 4oz., 20" and perfectly healthy. Of course she is beautiful. My granddaughter just called to say the hard part was over - the pain anyway.

That set me off in gales of laughter - still laughing when I think of it. I assured her that this was the easiest part of the next 20 years or more. Oh, to be young and optimistic and clueless again!

Many thanks to you all - esp. those who think I'm in my 40's or something, although I am too young to be a great grandma. The 60's rock, and I don't mean 1960's this time, although they did to be sure.

I LOVE YOU ALL!! (tonight anyway)

What a pretty name Julie...I know you will not spoil her at all,,will ya? Very happy for you and your family. How far away are they and will you get to see her on this 3 day weekend? I sure hope so. I would have never thought you were in that age group for real.

I'm spending the night Sat. so I can go kayaking Sun

and not have to travel so far in the am - they live about 45 mi., 1 hour, from me and the river is about another 15 or so. That was the plan before the baby arrived, so I might switch & see her on the way home instead. Have to see how mom really feels.

Of course I will spoil her - I can give her back and not have to live with the damage - LOL>

Excellent, whitewater or just kayaking? I see a few kayakers paddling around the lake I jetski on/ Always thought it looked like fun, but also looks like excercise, lol.

I sure hope you get to see the little darlin!

The only whitewater in FL is few stretches of the Suwanee River. I'm doing from DeLeon Springs (after I have my youth-retaining cup of water) down the spring run to Lake Woodruff, about 5-6 mi., then back. This is my cardio - the reason I took it up. Done properly, it is a whole body workout, yet never feels like exercise to me.

I saw her today, held her and got photographed w/her -

she is beautiful, a very pretty baby. Looks much like her mom at that age, another pretty baby. But she just slept while I was there...told her I would start to show her the world when she turns 3 or 4, and I swear she smiled at that promise!

I'm hooked!
