You can get one here. Look in Notary Supplies. When I started out, my insurance agents for houses and cars was able to get me one as well. Now I get it here. Its faster.

The supplies tab section. I am a licensed insurance broker and sell a lot ofd bonds but prefer to buy my Notary bonds here. they are cheaper, with less hassel and it supports what I consider to be the best Notary site on the web. Go Harry! while you are at it consider a Premiere subscription here, it will help you avoid a nasty and painful learning curve. Good luck and welcome aboard!

Ask your SOS. In California, we are required to take oath and file bond with County Clerk.

I get my bond through NotRot and am not familiar with NNA bond. NotRot bond is already completely filled out.
You may want to contact NNA, or whoever issues their bond, for further guidance. Sorry.

Kelly - did you go through NNA for your notary training and commission? I did when I was getting my FL commission, and they handled everything, including filing the bond with the state for me. Check with NNA - they may have already done it and you may be able to get a copy of the completed one either from them or from your SOS.

It's not a stupid question, Kelly. NotaryRotary is a good source for everything you require--bond, e & o insurance, stamps, journals, etc. It's also a good place to get a background check, if you think you're going to need one. You didn't say--are you planning to do loan signing work? Best of luck to you.

I would suggest you use the orange search button for message #33325. It contains a lot of info about getting started in this business. This is a very tough time and many notaries are getting out of the biz because there isn't enough work to sustain them. I wish you well. I'm sure you did your research before investing the money it takes for start-up.

Along with the excellent suggestions above, might I add that
punctuation is still a tell-tale sign of competence in our language.
One might do well not to mistake the common 'texting' abrievations for acceptable business language.
Even an elementary command of our language, such as capitalization, says much about who we are, and the care we take.
