Sign for signings companies. Bancserv for example. If you ever encounter a dilemma do not hesitate to ask. Good luck!

Letty
SC is an attorney only state. Notaries cannot do loan signings there.

The best advise I can give you is to spell advice correctly. That's one of the pet peeves here and among many things, learn your state laws upside down, read message #33325, read, read, read all posts and use the orange search button. There is a wealth of info here.

Check with your state's notary division to see what you can do.
SC is an attorney only state as far as loan closings go.
Laura Vestenan has a great book downloadable from Amazon.Com

http://www.amazon.com/Marketing-Your-Non-Loan-Notary-Services/dp/B000IB14YW

has a lot of great ideas on non-loan notary services.

I just received a preview copy

of her notary marketing book with many updates. Will read it completely after EOM.

Re: New Notary - update on Laura's book

Oops - the latest edition of Laura Vestenan's book can be found on her website.

www.ProfessionalNotary.com

Amazon, apparently, does not have the newest version.

Re: New Notary - update on Laura's book

I have the original book and the update; they are GREAT! Lots of information and I like the format that the book is written. Everyone should read it!

So WHY did you become a notary?

SC is an attorney-only state for loan signings; so hopefully, you'll respect the honored history and responsibilities of the office by serving the public with intergrity and professionalism.

Good luck, and visit this forum often - you'll learn a lot.
