Notary Acceptor
I was asked to be a Notary Acceptor for an individual. The most recent post I can find is from 2006. I'm trying to find more information before I meet with this person. TIA

Along the same lines as Notarial Protest, no?
Just different words for different states.

Presentment, not protest. PAW - want to explain?
Notary presentment work is allowed in only around 5 states and the only way to get steady work is by referral. You have to be very hooked into the various underground communities practicing
Sometimes I get calls for it and I have to refer them to a gal on the East Coast that I know is good at it.
Notary protest work is a far easier process than presentment work and is permitted in many states.
Maybe PAW will describe presentment honor/dishonor work and how it differs from protest work. I can't do it succinctly.
Although it is not specifically cited in notary regs, many states neverless sanction notaries doing the work. Repeat activity (even only once after a first sanction) could mean losing a commission and never being permitted to get one again.

Re: Presentment slightly differs from Acceptor
The following link explains the procedure (and may be considered advertising, which is not my intent as I have no connection to listed entity) and differences:

Please inquire at your local SOS for any restrictions.

Re: Presentment, not protest. PAW - want to explain?
I'm not very familiar with acceptor services, presentments or protests since they are not authorized duties of a notary commissioned in Florida. In that respect, I yield to Pennsylvania Notaries Public as I do believe they are authorized to perform those duties.
