Power of Attorny for California?

I have a friend that is requesting my notory services for someone that is on their death bed. What do I need to know befor I notorize the Power of Attorney? Can anyone tell me? Thanks.

If you follow your state's laws and reference their handbook for wording, you will be fine. Go to the source is the best advice anyone can give you (the Handbook).

You definately need current ID for the giver of the POA or credible witnesses, but again, your handbook will tell you everything you need to know.

And I think if the person giving the POA dies the POA is terminated too.

That's correct the POA is terminated when the grantor dies. Above all make sure that the person knows what they are signing and the reason for it. Good luck, not a pleasant situation.

For starters, you might want to learn how to spell the name of your profession. You are a notary & you notarize documents. It is "a" not "o".
