April fools call

I just got a call that had to have been an April fools joke. They really had me going and I was really trying to work with them, but it was going too far.

Call was from a large title company's attorney. She needed a Deed signed by a gentlemen to correct an error that they made on a transaction. Quoted my fee, then she told me there was more. This man wanted a pizza from one of the local pizza companies but they could not get through to them. Gave me the name of the pizza place, I verified the number and even called the pizza place to make sure the number was correct. Then they stated that the gentlemen would only sign if they paid him $100.00 in cash. They wanted me to pay him the cash and they would reimburse me. They really tried to push this but I refused. They were then going to try to overnight everything to me, but I would have to cash the check, pick up a pizza and then meet with this client. They said they would call me back. Of course they never called back.

The caller ID did show the title company name, but when I looked up the number on google, the number did not come up as a title company number or any number I could identify. Every question I asked throughout this conversation they answered, including giving me the name of the individual I was to meet as well the area that he lived, short of giving me his address. What I don't get is why they picked me as I don't know anyone personally in the area that this call came from.

Since you didn't accept the assignment and obviously are free, I wonder if you could run me by some Chinese take-out?
