Mobile Notary Fees
Is there a place I can go to see what the standard Notary fees are to charge? I am a Mobile Notary and would like to know how much to charge. Anything would help. I would like a breakdown. Thank you

Your state handbook will tell you the maximum notary fee for your state. Some states allow additional fees for travel, etc., but some don't.

it might be a good idea to look at some other profiles from some of the regular posters and re-think how your profile is currently worded. as far as fees...i'm sure there are plenty of posts you can search with different fees schedules and determine what works for you.

Just be sure that what you end up with is in your own words and not copied from someone else!

I did look at other postings and I am wording it my own way. I might of gotten ideas from other posts just like you and the other person suggested and I have been in the Mortgage field as long as I have posted. I also work with those types of loans as well everyday. I even see mistakes that a lot of the Notaries out there make. Plus we are not allowed to close loans if the Notary made mistakes, just like I see everyday. So I am not actually sure why you and the other lady are making those kind of comments. Please advise.

Didn't mean to imply anything towards you. (In fact, I haven't even looked at your profile yet.) Just that some of us have have had our profiles plagiarized here in the past and the advice you were given might have been interpreted by some as an invitation to copy. I just wanted to be clear about that. I guess it touched a nerve!

Fees depend on the following:
1) Your state laws. 2) Your individual expenses. 3) Your desired profit margin. 4) The market need for your services.
I could tell you what I charge, but it wouldn't help you much because I'm in another state and probably have widely different expenses and a totally different situation.
You need to research each of the above 4 things and decide on the fees that work for you.
You handbook (page 19) says that you cannot charge "service or transaction" fees, but you can charge for mileage. Regarding mileage it says:
"A notary public may charge a travel mileage fee and charge per diem, if he or she travels a distance to perform a notarization. The travel mileage fee and per diem allowed is the amount allowed Arizona state employees.
The Department of Administration administers the mileage fee. The mileage fee schedule is posted at www.azdoa.gov. A notary public who plans to charge this fee should contact the Department of Administration to make sure this mileage fee is current."
I believe, if I looked at the most current rate, the mileage rate is $0.445 per mile.
So, just for example...
Let's say you get a call for a notarization that is 10 miles away. The most you can charge is $2 for the notarization and $8.90 for the 20 mile round trip. (44.5 cents/mile x 20 miles)
For AZ notaries, did I get that right? $10.90.

You asked for "Mobile Notary Fees", not fees we charge as Signing Agents.
