OT: Beware of the new Cisco Valet routers!

I purchased a new Cisco Valet Plus router today. After literally hours on the phone with support, I still cannot connect wirelessly. "Top level support" is supposed to call me back in the morning. I'll keep everyone posted! In the meantime, delay your purchase of a wireless router, please.

When I got a new router, there were issues. Fortunately, my installer (son) had seen these before and downgraded my encryption method. The higher, newer encryption method would not work with my oldest computer, therefore the the encryption on the router had to be down on that level.

I purchased my Cisco Linksys refurbished online...

no problems at start up and its been working fine for about a month now..

Note that I'm talking specifically about Cisco's NEW Valet!

I bought the Valet Plus because of Cisco's reputation and my happiness with Linksys and othe Cisco products.

You could not have bought a refurbushed Valet. It hasn't been available long enough.

I'm still trying to get my Cisco Valet Plus router to work properly.
