Stewart Lender Services process fee?
I accepted a signing for them Monday and at first lowballed. Got them up and received an email stating they need my info. They need a copy of my background check, fine but to review it, it will cost me $10.00 and if over 12 months, $30.00. Huh? Mine is over 12 months and that would bring my signing down below what I want to work for. Plus they told me I would get future signings but when?
Has anyone else done this and if so, did it pay off? It rubs me the wrong way.

I haven't encountered this, but I wouldn't pay them fees. We struggle as it is to make anything close to a decent fee.

I would not pay any company to be on their list. Especially a company that has already shown that that they do not offer professional fees. I work with several companies that have these "process" fees and have never paid any of them.

I already told them I wouldn't pay this fee. Automated response back. I'll see what happens in the morning.

First they offer a lowball fee and now want you to *pay* for them to review your background check? Totally outrageous game playing and a big red flag to me. IMHO, I wouldn't waste time working with them.....they'll be a PITA to work with and collect from. After receiving such an email, I would have called and gave them back the job. JMHO.

Tell them you can provide them the info if they pay your
administration fee of $50 to cover your time to "review" your records. And no discount offered for your administration charges.

Just say no
They want to charge you to review your BGC??? No, thank you very much, but that's never going to happen....
I'm amazed at how creative some of these companies can be at sucking the money out of the notary's pocket... It would be wonderful if they could channel those creative efforts into figuring out how to pay what they owe on a timely basis....

If this company is in Tx I did pay them, it was many years ago. Never heard from them, don't let them fool you.
