Alabama Notary Conference - October 2010
Can't believe it. Alabama is doing it again. I received an email today offering early registration to this year's Notary Conference in Montgomery, AL.
Thursday, October 21st
9:00 - 12:30 pm
Renaissance Hotel
Montgomery, AL
Hmmmm...in one place in the invite it names Renaissance Hotel as the location. In another paragraph it cites the Montgomery Performing Arts Center. So.....all I can say for sure is that it will take place in Montgomery.
You can contact Beth Chapman's office for more information. I guess they'll do a mailer next.
I recommend this Conference to all new Alabama notaries and for notaries who never got a lick of training. I'm not so sure I'll go this time. I'll wait until I see the agenda, guest speakers, etc.
Please note that this has nothing to do with signing agent work. Strictly notary requirements, laws, etc.

Re: Recently relocated back to Alabama
Last year I went to the Alabama Notary Conference and there were over 2,000 Notaries. Beth Chapman was asked about helping the Notaries and she said to contact our representative. I email her and also Judge Jean Brown, the SOS Legal adviser and asked about a handbook with information that help us and I sent them the web-site of a couple of States that had handbooks for them to look at and help us out and have not gotten a response as of yet. I email Judge Jean Brown two or three times with questions and all she did was refer me to some other place. I did not learn anything new last year so I will not go this year.
