Anyone know what software opens a .UFX file?

I've got a closing for Fifth Third bank and this is the file extension for the loan package.

The closing isn't until tomorrow morning, but I would really like to resolve this and find the correct software instead of asking the TC to scan to PDF.

TIA

No clue, but are you sure that it is an actual doc?

Frequently when there is a attachment in some kind or "wierd" format,
it turns out to be a logo or somesuch.

It is the lenders software file extension, the TC should open it and convert it to PDF for you.

You can't open it without the lenders software

They're supposed to send it in pdf.

Thanks for the responses

The TC is overnighting the package to me.

It seems they cannot convert the file to PDF and don't have the ability to scan to PDF, so this was the best option. At least the closing isn't until 10:30 AM and I can pick the package up at my local FedEx depot at 9AM, giving me plenty of time to get to the closing.

I was going to have them fax to my efax, which creates a PDF file, but am glad I didn't have to use that option.

I am still looking for the answer regarding this file extention. Maybe I will contact the people at Fifth Third after the closing so I can be better prepared for the next time.

UFX is the file that is output from the I-32® Forms Automation Solutions software sold and distributed by VMP and others. It is used in conjunction with the lender's LOS (Loan Origination Software) to 'build' a comprehensive loan/mortgage file.

The software does (or supposed to) have an output writer that will write the file in either XHTML or PDF.

I doubt the TC would have the software necessary, but the lender (who originated the loan) certainly should.

Thanks Paul, that's the information I found too

The TC was able to view and print the file, so they FedExed the package to me for tomorrow morning.

I might contact Fifth Third to see if they can help so I don't have a problem next time.

That worked out well. O/N docs are great.
