BEWARE OF NREIS

I regret to report that NREIS has used every trick in the book -- not returning emails and phone calls, shuttling me around to several different people and departments, etc. -- to avoid paying me a cancellation fee for a job they had asked me to do on an emergency basis.

NREIS called me in a "panic" saying that a notary who had recently closed a refi for them had not returned the documents, and asked me if I would handle a re-signing of the docs.

I quickly ran the docs, ran and got gas, and sped to the borrower's home. When the borrower came to the door, they told me that the re-signing would not be necessary because NREIS had just received the first set of docs.

When I returned home, there was a call on my answering machine cancelling the appointment, but the call came in "after" any reasonable person would have left for the appointment. So, I called NREIS. They apologized, and promised me a cancellation fee for my time and trouble, and the materials I had used running the docs.

That was three months ago, and they haven't done a thing except avoid my phone calls and emails. I will never work for them again.

Paulette, if you do a search with the Orange Search button you will discocver that NREIS has a lengthy history of not paying until they are good and ready, up to 4-6 months after the fact. They used to be a good company, but since late 2009 they have had nothing but bad publicity.

Sorry you got caught up in this - it is hurtful, I know. In the future, run all companies through Signing Central and use the Orange Search button to look up everyone. If you don't like what you read, know that these are honest observations recounted by many. Steer clear of them, give the job back - whatever it takes to keep yourself on an even keel.

Three Months appears to be the average

amount of time NSA's have to wait to get paid these days from this company. It may not be that they don't plan on paying you. You just haven't waited long enough.

I received payment a few weeks ago from NREIS for work I did for them in January 2010. I sent several reminders and then I just waited. I eventually got paid.

Paulette. Just wondering why the msg was left on your answering machine at home. Do you have a cell phone. This could have possibly stopped you from making the trip.

Even if she did have a cell phone, that doesn't absolve NREIS. She was doing an emergency job to pull them out of a pickle. When I'm rushing, I sometimes FORGET my cell phone.

This sad event is the exact reason why I don't accept any last-minute signings.

Your absolutely right Julie, usually last minute signings are a pita. I don't go anywhere without my cell phone and have actually turned around and went back home to get it the couple times I walked out without it. Fortunately I didn't get too far, maybe out of my subdivision.

I never leave the house without my cell phone. That's because my GPS is on it.

Did NREIS not track the package before they

scheduled another notary to go out? That's their problem and I'd be pushing them for payment.

A foreclosure auction isn't the same as a closing where

you have to wait 4-6 months to get paid.

What one earth is this supposed to mean?
