It depends on the state and a lot of companies. I would take $100K, as many companies require that before they will work with you. It's $104 usually for $100K. Best of luck.

$170 for $100,000 worth of E &O, which covered four years. Much has changed.....

Correct, I let it lapse because when I became a notary, I couldn't afford the 4 or 5 year plan, whatever was offered. Unfortunately for me, being in NJ, apparently business is super slow and the one regular guy I work with has an incredibly hard time paying in a timely fashion, so I don't bother going for several years...I also ONLY work with Real Estate Transactions, I don't do the simple 'cash' notarizations as I've seen them called, and seeing as that's slow, paying $400+ for E&O that I probably won't use was useless, we'll see. How's business in other states, if anyone is still reading this...
