FASS/Invalid and Extreme Petty Quality Issues
Always been faithful and exclusive to FATCO. It's really scary that they make many more mistakes than I do...Going looking for new clients cuz their vendor relations doesn't look like it exists anymore.. How sad it is. On my 1,000 signing which I thought was going to be lucky!!

I've had the same experience with them. They gave me a lot of business in the past and never had QC issues. Now I get them all the time. One that really got me was when I had a 9am closing and it continued to get pushed back throughout the day. Sometimes they would update the borrower and me and sometimes we didn't know why I didn't have the package. I ended up closing it at 11:45pm. When I got home to fax the required docs there was an email telling me that bc I did not confirm the closing on their website within 4 hours of the original 9am close time I would be receiving a QC issue. That's just what you want to see after inconvienincing your schedule all day by continuing to reschedule an appointment and all the time spent comforting a very upset signer to complete a signing for them.
I tried to disagree with it but they came back with pat answers on what I should have done to avoid this. Most of which I did do but they never updated the system. They said they were going to keep it in my records as accepts/agrees for future reference.
I don't even look at any QC issues from them anymore because 1. There is no one that reads your replies that has the ability to understand them.
2. With FASS handing out QC Issues like raindrops they are shooting themselves in the foot by losing their "White Glove" NSAs very quickly and more and more of their clients are requesting FASS to only use a " White Glove" Notary for their closings.
3. I lost my WGS a while ago and when they do call I see on the conf. That their client requests White Glove only but I am no longer White.
If I get calls from from the local offices they meet my fees but I have had 2 issues lately getting paid what was agreed upon when accepting the assignment and further confirmed on the written confirmation. When I contact them to let them know that they did not pay me the agreed upon fee I simply get a stern email stating we pay x for that and that is it!
I decided if I still choose to business with them I would be diligent in making sure I get paid what was contracted but as far as the marks on my "permanent record" with FASS I don't even respond to them anymore.

Rule of Corporate America
Give them a title, not a raise.
Works all the time.

Even if you have no "QC issues", you can't maintain WGS
unless you charge below the average NSA rate for your area.
So WGS is not something you really want to have.

They acutally did me a favor by taking the WGS away. I use to rely on them to stay in business but now that they don't call as much I have been available to accept appointments from other companies and have become successful with several different companies.
It's a much better feeling to have more than 1 company to keep you in business.

They have been a "bread and butter" company for me in the past although they have been petty with their wgs system. i no longer even look at any complaint they may have. wgs has been given and taken so much that it is meaningless. Recently, I haven't received as many closings from them as usual but in my area I am never short of closings. Their fees are lower as well so it is not a huge loss for me and a lot less hassle.

I wish you wouldn't talk in code. What is QC and WGS?

Sorry Pat
It drives me crazy too when I don't know what the codes mean. QC=Quality control. WGS=White Glove Status.

WoW! It's good to see all this chatter about FATCO, WGS, etc., etc.. All this time I thought it was just me.

Yes, "white glove" usually means you'll end up needing a Proctologist. LOL

I used to have WGS with them. Took their on-line training and then, when I got the word that I was WGS I was told my fees were going to go down to $75.00. Told them to shove it. Didn't need it - and still don't.

I did a lot of business with them years ago, but dropped them like a hot potato when they required "training" with them. At $50 per signing at the time, I was insulted, so I dropped them and I've never looked back. So glad I did now!

Re: White Glove Status = Cheap Labor in FASS's eyes.
Good part of getting their business is that they have volume and they pay on tiime. The Chase mortgages I was closing were pretty easy. They downgraded my status as a white glove agent by telling me I violated an unwritten policy which was not covered in my instructions. They couldn't give me a written violation because it was not covered in their list of violations. So they just dumped me. Got 1 call after that and it was late on a Friday; I assume that all their other notaries were busy. They treat notaries like the low end of the food chain. I still to this day have never made a signing error on one of their closings, but they think that we are just a dime a dozen and their is always another one around the corner.
