Last-minute signings

I got two calls late yesterday for same-day appointments, although my profile here clearly states that I don't do same-day signings for unknown companies.

One signing service that has had recent press here on NotRot called at 2:58 for a 4pm signing. Purchase signing. Edocs of 133 pages. Offered $100.

The other, I didn't catch the name, called just before 7pm for a same-evening signing and
offered $115 for an refi with edocs.

Neither would accept my negotiated fee, but I held it together and did not sob. I enjoyed my evening reading, watching tv and soaking in the hot tub. Last-minute jobs are usually a PITA and I just won't do them without a commensurate fee.

I had a mobile notary job yesterday morning for one of the Kansas City Royals players. As I was on my way to his house, his manager called to say 8:30 didn't work after all and could I come at 10:30. I had another appt at that time and told him so. He wanted me to CHANGE my other appt. I said I could do it after, but couldn't change the appt. He seemed pretty surprised. I was a bit surprised at the request.

That was my day. At least the tax client I had booked showed up and was prepared.
