Messy ~ toner refills!
I have been refilling my toner on my big hp3330 for several years. Then I got a smaller HP laserjet M1212mfp. I only filled the cartridge 2 times. With great care, as I usually do. But, I don't know WHERE the black streak kept coming from this morning.... I would run some paper.. It would run clean on one or two sheets and then on the right side there would black streaks. Should this happen so soon on my HP85A cartridge. I did not overfill it and couldn't find any toner in the machine. Any suggestions? T H A N K S!

I think this happens when you buy some of the cheaper cartridges as I have from some of the e-bay sellers. I refilled them a few times and had the same issues with lines on the sides of the paper. I have been buying the rebuilt cartridges from LD and have refilled them twice with no problems at all. Also, when refilling them I place them inside a plastic grocery bag and just put a hole for the refill toner. I also tape the bag to the cartridge toner hole so in that way, when I refill them there is no possibility of toner leaking anywhere on to the cartridge. When finished I remove the plastic bag by turning it inside out on itself. Seal the refill hole and you are done. Hope some of this helps.

get an air can and blow air into the area where your
toner cartridge sits...yes, it seems you have an overfill cartridge, and unfortunately it leaks and leaves annoying streaks on your drum.
Take your cartridge out and using a very soft cloth, wipe your drum in one motion, several times, until its clean. But you'll only get one side of the drum, which will give you a few clean pages...this process has to be done for a little while, until your toner starts running low. Its a pain, but when money is tight, got to do what one has to do.
Above happened to me, and when finally my toner ran out, I ordered a refurbished cartridge at toner refill kits dot com...for about $50...as opposed to getting a new one for $100+ from my local office supply store... No more refilling for me...a pain in the butt and sloppy!
