They will not pay you if the loan doesn't fund.

Yes in case the deal does not fund you will not be paid. So they spend 60 seconds to call you for the signing and you spend 3 or more hours from start to finish plus gas, toner, paper, etc. Not counting that you could have done other signing for other company that does not have that policy. I understand that if you messed up on a file you shouldn't be paid at all, but if you know their policy in advanced and you still do work for them, that's fine because you accepted their terms. Of course this is just my opinion.

Not only that- they seem to have an unexplainable and excessive amount of loans that don't "fund"-total BS. I did one page signings for them and they said the loan never funded??? I sent invoices directly to the Title company and got paid.......

Just checked my records...I did five for them June and July..paid on time but we had "issues" so we've parted ways, admirably!

If they don't pay, the first time is their fault second time is my fault. So, no pay don't accept assignments from them in the future and I will post on the board is this happens

Notaries EXpress
I just have to jump in on this one. These people are terrific to work with! I have had many many signings with them since they started their business and have never once had an issue. They are professional, know what they are doing and are available anytime you need them.
Yes, they have a policy of non-payment if the loan doesn't fund. I just addressed this with Steve, the owner, and he explained that this only applies to a few of their customers, happens very rarely and if a notary has extended themselves and done a good job then there is a good possibility that even if Notaries Express doesn't get paid they will often pay the notary anyway.
This issue came up as a question during a teleconference with my students last weekend and I advised them that I would not hesitate taking work based on this criteria. Had I refused work from Notaries Express years ago, I would have missed out on thousands of dollars of income from them over those years, and the great relationship we have today.

Re: Notaries EXpress
Maybe I'm just dense, but I feel, if I do my job and do it correctly, and a loan doesn't fund, its not my fault it doesn't fund - but probably the broker//lender/LO - someone in that capacity has not communicated properly with the borrower, so why should we be penalized for something we have no control over. If I see on a confirmation - no funding, no pay, I turn it back. And who's policy is this anyway? TC? SS? If the SS is so desperate to accept these conditions, then I think they need to get into another business. If you call a plumber to fix a leak you have to pay him even if the "fix" comes up to be really NOT fixed and you have to call the plumber back out. He at least got paid for the first time around. JMHO

Re: Notaries EXpress
They were one of my regular customers since 2005 then stiffed me on a payment a year or two ago because loan didn't fund. They refused to pay me anything and it didn't matter that we'd had a relationship for years. I told them that was unacceptable and asked them to remove me from they're call list and they did so without a second thought. Not the kind of company I want to do business with.

I work with them
I've done a lot for them as well, and never any issues. Great to work with always. Docs always get to me fast, no hand holding. Lisa and Steve are nice and always available. I had a question at 10pm a few months ago, and Steve picked up his cell. Same as the notary above, if I would have not taken work from them I would have missed on thousands of dollars. So what, one or two a year don't close. I still do well over $8K with them. Took my 1st signing a few years ago and happy with the company.
