We won!

I think we got paid by NREIS
by us standing together.
I think we can do this with other
companys. Maybe it is time
to change how we get paid.
Ideas?

I could be wrong, but I don't think NREIS ever intended not to pay all the notaries.
They were in a situation apparently. Yes, it does help to get info from others, including contact nos. or email address that are the most effective.

I agree with you Marilynn.

There has never been a time for me that NREIS has missed a payment.

No! Never PayPal.
I've had my problems with them and NEVER!!! again. Plus they hav e a problem with "physing" emails which I've never had with my regular credit cards.
Electronic transfer to my bank would be fine.

I've not had any major issues with PayPal at all, and would never discourage anyone from at least trying it if you're running a business with a website and all. If you want to get paid in advance, before going out on a job, you won't be sorry you have an account. Just don't link your bank account, its a choice one has.

Its simple to open and set up, and just as simple to close. It's such a convenience for my clients to pay especially if they're from out of state. I also have a debit card for all of my accounts, so I can get my money quick by visiting the good 'ole atm. Wink

I use this service in lieu of a credit card machine which costs hundreds of dollars. I have three businesses I run, and honestly, PayPal has yet to fail me. Sorry you had a hard time but this system works for me. I run end of the year reports and so much more for tax purposes, etc.

I never go out on a notary job w/out first obtaining payment (and a signed contract if at all possible!) Unless of course, its for a SS or TC that are my clients. Even for those 'sour apple' companies listed on SC, if they pay me via PayPal, I'll do the job, no hassle or drama!

I read of all these horror stories of agents & notaries not getting paid when they show up for various assignments, and I just think, thank goodness for PayPal!

Cari, Just curious just how many companies pay you for SA work this way??

Mostly the ones w/3 stars or less...if they're desperate and

can't find anyone to accept the assignment, and want to keep their client, they'll pay this way. I've yet to have a problem.

I hate to burst your bubble - and I'm certainly not an apologist for NREIS - but I don't think any of our actions had anything to do with it. I heard that B of A - a very major client of theirs - was withholding payments, or was several months behind. I never got the impression that they were trying to be deceitful or play games and didn't really have the intention of not paying. [That doesn't excuse their actions, though.] I felt it was a genuine cash flow issue that they intended to remedy. It just seemed to me that they made payments whenever they were able and tried to spread around what they could, to whatever extent possible.

As we all know, "stuff" rolls down hill and we are probably somewhere near the base of the hill (and getting hit in the face with it...) Anyway, I think the checks that are rolling out probably just mean that either they've received a big payment(s) from B of A and/or the settlement of their legal issues has eliminated or reduced the drain on cash flow. Who knows what will happen in the future. I hope it's good news for everyone involved.
