Why do all the low-ballers ....

always say: "We pay $XX. Can you help me out with that?" (Speaking usually at 100 mph). I've never heard anyone say: "We pay $XXX. Can you help me out with that?" It's like code that they know they're pathetic and need "help." The second I hear "Can you help me out with that?" I know I'm dealing with somebody from the wrong side of the tracks.

As soon as they start saying "could you help me out with that", click, I would just hang up on them (like ND who call 8 times a day)...

At least you could understand them. With all these offshore Signing Companies, or Signing Companies that use offshore schedulers I often can’t.
If someone calls me speaking English with a strong…say Hindi, Tagalog, Maylay, Khmer, or even Spanish accent, and I’m in my car, and on my cell I just hang up.
I guess I should learn Spanish? For half the world, and about half the US, it’s now the primary language, and maybe I'd get more signings?

Answer their question with a question: Can you help me with car payment?

lol! Good line Cari. They sound like tele-marketers, when they make those kind of opening remarks. The one that really gets under my skin is: "we have a signing "opportunity" in your area".

They start by saying in a friendly manner, as if I already know them " how are you today?" They sound like they know you are the sucker that will work for $XX. They assume that you are not going to ask questions about fee and fax-backs and how may pages are in the docs. They can't answer any of my questions except that their fee of $XX .... I just say NO and hang up.

I received a call for a loan signing with e docs for next week. Scheduler said "I'm authorized to pay $45.00 for that, is that OK. I laughed.

I just give them my fee and they usually say " I will have to get that approved." I say OK but make no promise to be available when they call back. I may get another call in the mean time. Sometimes they call back and meet the fee and sometimes they don't. I only turn down the non paying companies. I try my best to remain professional. It's business not personal.

if the call starts off similar to lines I heard ...

when I was single, it's not going to fly with me any easier now than it did then. It's called "emotional engagement" - they'll try to snag you by invoking your 'fixer factor'.
