A step back in time

The borrower wanted to be sure the legal discription was right in his paperwork. Apparently they stopped the closing previously because it was wrong, along with a few other things. I read the TC's decription to him while he followed along with his abstract. He had the full abstract! He has owned the house for 4 yrs. So that was a step back.
The description measured his 4 acres in rods. A rod, if I remember right, is 16.5 ft or the length of an ox goad.

In Texas, land measurments can be feet and inches, rods or leaps and bounds.

I think he had the last remaining remnant of something that was parceled off. His house was built in 1999 and was tucked back behind other houses which were on the road. I got stuck in the snow back there!
It had been a while since I had seen a description like that

Come on up to Tennessee and look at some of the descriptions! LOL

Had one several years ago that read,"Beginning in the SW corner at the water closet . . . " Had not been an outhouse on the property in about 25 years.
