Anyone have experience with MDA Lending Solutions, Inc?
Hi, I am new here. Been a title closer and signing agent for about 8 years. I accepted a signing for MDA for a certain fee. I received the confirmation, which stated the correct fee agreed upon. They then sent over a 36 page packet that needed to be completed and faxed back. "Hidden" in this 36 page packet was an authorization for a background check which stated they would subtract $45 from my fee to cover this. I feel this should have been disclosed up front. Anyone else have this happen? Has anyone ever heard or dealt with MDA Lending Solutions? thanks!

If a company contacts me for a signing and I accept, and they then send over a bunch of malarkey for me to sign and fax back in order to be one of their signing agents, I immediately call them and tell them that I will not sign any contracts in order to do their jobs. All I will provide is a W-9 and my own version of a signing agent info sheet.
Some agents here are okay with these sign-up packages, but I'm not. I'm an independent contractor and refuse to sign contracts with companies that may well be out of business tomorrow. I also will not provide them with personal information such as SSN, drivers license number, car insurance, shoe size, whether or not I've had my wisdom teeth pulled or any other information they do not need.
The amount of data some of these companies want is ridiculous and even if by some chance they were able to tell me how they would protect my confidential data, I still won't provide it. If it costs me a business relationship, that's a risk I'm willing to takel.
It's ultimately your decision...but that you can get your own BGC through LexisNexis thereby avoiding having to provide your SSN. Also, what if the contract forbids you to work with companies that they do business with....and you already have a business relationship with that company? Why should any company tell you who you can and can't work directly with?

I agree with all the above! Although I've been doing this a long time, it's the first time I've run into this. I have no intentions of filling out that crazy packet. I'm used to doing business with attorney's and title companies, signing companies are a whole different game.
Thanks for info and your thoughts!
Have a great year!

they tried to pull that on me a while back and I told them to go to heaven and turned back the signing
they weren't too happy with me....but I could have cared less

I've worked for them fair amount in Baltimore and they never asked for a background check.
