Can I Stop Getting All The Loser Calls?

Seriously, I'm so tired of the ONLY calls I'm getting being from super low ballers. My unemployment is running out, my other two jobs are slow and I really need the income! I'm so tired of being expected to do eDocs for $40 to $60. Of course I don't accept it but really?!?! I seriously don't want to get to the point of desperate and accept these pointless fee's but I need to feed my family!

I sure hope 2011 will be a big turn around. I don't expect a lot and don't even ask to be rich. I just want to survive. I've NEVER had documents returned due to errors, I get awesome reviews from my borrowers. Can I just start getting calls from some decent companies and a little respect for the work I do?

UGGGG!!!!! Thanks for letting me vent. I'm financially stressed.

I wish these companies would go away, also, but rarely do I get a call from them these days. I've never accepted a lowball offer and never will.

Remember, if you accept one, they will then know that you can be had at that price.

And also, these loser $40 companies often don't even pay the piddlin' amount they offer.
Keep saying no.

Kim do you market youself use SC and sit on the computer and email or call companies. It's the end of year there will probably be a last push. And what about the local title companies?

It helped me to choose whether or not I take and assignment after I did a thorough cost analysis. Put a price
on everything imaginable. You may be quite surprised to find out how much it cost you to do each signing. Then, I will be real easy and painless to just say no!

After getting extremely tired of the hand holding from an infamous SC, I fired off a letter to the owner, asking to be removed fron their database. The calls stopped for about 3 months, but now they are calling me again.
P.S.
They are also a notorious low-baller, but occasionaly they would meet my my fee.
I will NEVER work for them again, Hand holding, fax backs, etc. But they keep calling.
Just like drugs, JUST SAY NO!

Does anyone want me to name the company? Or does everyone know that it's Nations?

Their only redeeming quality is that they do pay on time.

Ha Ha! I knew it was Nations Direct after your first sentence. Same thing for me. I did a couple signings for them because they met my fee two months ago, and after the signing remembered why I won't work for them! To accept a job from them, even IF they meet your fee, means being harrassed ALL DAY LONG by their phone calls.

I have told them to stop calling, and WHY, I don't answer when they call but sometimes they call on an unrecognizable number, in which case I hang up...because they don't listen.

What I can't figure out, is how this company continues to have so many signings available. I'm happy to pass them by!

To the original poster: As James said, figure all costs plus your time...be reasonable...and come up with what you will work for. Use Signing Central and sort the companies according to ratings and spend time getting your information to all the companies with good ratings. When I started this business I spent three month every work day at my computer contacting companies...it paid off! Don't work for less...it will end up costing you!

I spent months years ago signing up with all the 5 star

companies then went to the 4 stars. I made follow up calls to all of them asking for work and after just a few months I had more work than I could handle and I never took low ball fees.

You have to look at the "startup" of doing this as your "job". Spend 8 hours a day on marketing and in no time you will be frustrated that you cant fit in all the business you receive. That is of course, if you do a good job and are flexible with your time, much of it is last minute.

I ain't never made a call for a low-ball fee, and I ain't never gonna do it again.

Thank you all for your words of encouragement. I've put a lot of work into signing up with SC's and it only paid off so far for one signing. Maybe there just isn't the work out this direction or something. This too shall pass they say.

So let me see if I get this right, you said, "My unemployment is running out, my other two jobs are slow and I really need the income! I'm so tired of being expected to do eDocs for $40 to $60."
So you are collecting unemployment benefits and working 2 other jobs and making money closing loans. Are you reporting the money you make to the unemployment agency? If so, you may not qualify for benefits or reduced benefits. If you are not reporting the money you make then you are collecting money fraudulently.

Sorry I struck a nerve about unemployment. Yes I went from a full time job as an insurance agent and when the economy went south I was laid off. I have been subsidizing any way possible by taking on some minimum wage part time jobs as well as trying to do notary work which I was doing before I was laid off as a supplement to my other job. I maybe get 1 or 2 notary jobs a month and yes I report all my income and yes my unemployment is reduced when I have received pay from my other jobs. Thank you I am doing everything ethically and legally in regards to unemployment and trust me I'm not taking advantage of it like many. I'm actually working anywhere and everywhere that I can get the extra pay so the state doesn't have to take care of me.

It's nice to see someone who is collecting unemployment also work hard at multiple jobs to make ends meet. As you say, many are just taking advantage of the system.
Good for you Kim. Best of luck in the future!
