HUD?
So this is a first. I have HUD with 4 X_______ places across the bottom. Are they wanting signatures or initials or what?

How many signers will you be dealing with? Also, is this a purchase or straight refi?

Are they short little lines or long lines? Any names printed underneath the lines?

no names listed below X's, not small lines like typical initial lines. One signer a straight refi

I've seen up to 4 for purchases (2 for each side). I've even seen some of them marked for "Seller" on just straight refis. If all of them are in the same area without any additional wording between them, I would just have them sign the top one and either have them print their name under their signature or keep moving to the next doc. If there is wording between them, or you are still unsure, you might want to ask the hiring company about it.
More than likely it is just the "form" part of their doc to include additional signature lines. That particular TC may have more investment or commercial closings than most and may have incorporated the extra lines for those type of closings.
If you didn't receive any special instructions from the hiring company with the docs, you should be fine to do what you normally do, IMO.

Intialing the bottom won't hurt. Some forms do have these
for this purpose.

Many docs (including HUDs) have 4 lines for four signers. If there's only one signer, then just one line should have a signature on it.
