Holy Moly! A signing @ 9 centimeters!!

I just got done with a purchase signing in the delivery room with husband and wife having a baby girl. Literally as I and the loan officer walked out the room the delivering doctor walked in to do the delivery.

Gives a whole new dimension to the term "last minute docs."

Instead of a buydown, you had a bear down?

Seriously-how is that even possible????

I had a baby 5 mos ago and there NO way that I would have been signing loan docs! Really-that is too much!!!!! This was my 2nd and was really quick and easy....but there is now way that I would have done that!!

People are CRAZY!!!!! Sorry to say but that is where I would have drawn the line and not conducted the signing. How uncomfortable to be there during that time!!! Just plain weird to me!!!!!!

Re: Seriously-how is that even possible????

Im with you CF..I would have halted this as well! Where were clear heads in this? Were the parents paying attention, do they know what they signed etc.? The birth of a child is a miracle and to be distracted doing a loan signing..To me that is absurd!

I had a closing last month that as soon as the signing was done they were headed to the hospital to be induced..their ride was waiting for them when I left.

woah, flashback...seriously how intrusive....

geez, and I thought asking for medical records was the worst I heard in this biz...but nope, this pretty much topped that!

I would not schedule a closing for myself while in labor-but if I was the BO and went into labor just before closing I would have continued on with it.

The notary would have never known but that's just me. Had 10 some at home some at hospital. Even the staff would question if I was sure I was laboring the few times I went to hospital.

Lorraine - I think you've top 'em all

for the strangest signing.

Was the mother comfortable while you were there?

Very interesting! Thanks for sharing.

Re: Lorraine - I think you've top 'em all

I would have canceled the signing if the woman had to sign more than a disclaimer deed, knowing that she had an epidural made me concerned so I made sure to cary a conversation with her and asked her several questions thru the signing to make sure she was coherent also made extra sure that she understood the disclaimer deed and she did. So then proceeded with the signing with her husband and loan officer. I did feel a little uncomfortable when hospital staff came in to check on her so we moved behind the curtain but the couple were excited enough to be giving birth and to take their newborn to a their new home.
