Hello all! Can California Notaries perform inspections?

Some notaries do field inspections as a contractor that has nothing to do with being a notary. You are asked that when you sign up here, but I don't know of any inspection company that uses NR to locate field inspectors.

I do... the one for do the most work for actually found me through NotRot.

Being a notary has nothing to do with doing filed inspections... but those companies like to hire notaries since we're out and about anyway and they consider us to be trustworthy.

My favorite field inspection company found me here too. They told me they look for notaries to hire because of our attention to detail.

Be careful about inspections. Most are simply that: Inspections. Take some photos, talk to some people, ask a few questions, get a business card & letterhead, send report (or fill out an online form, which is much more likely), and wait for your check. Not bad work!

Some "inspections" involve breaking into foreclosed property and changing locks. Having been assaulted more than once, I no longer do lock changes.

Real inspections are a fun change of pace from 1003s, TILs, RTCs, etc. I'll take all anyone will give me!
