Numbers site saga continues...

I am so scared right now. Jeremy told me that he was going to hire a Louisiana attorney to sue me if I don't stop the "slander"...Well he didn't take the time to learn the meaning of slander, but in any case... Geez. Whatever shall I do?
HA HA!
Too bad I didn't lie or speak lies about him...
My response to him (along with a few other choice words) was to "Bring it on"

you never mentioned him or his site by name. There are plenty of 'Jeremys' out there. Also plenty of 'Richards' ;0)

Interesting. It appears he can say or do anything he wants,

and threatens a lawsuit when someone talks about it. Hmmmmm. IMO you never said anything slanderous, and were only venting about a situation you found yourself in. Of course, I'm not an attorney, yada, yada, yada. I seem to recall he threatened another notary with similar recourse for some remarks made to some FB posts.

Re: Oh and you might be looking at a countersuit!!

I read your post on someone who possibily violated a federal law! Like the previous post, I can testify that you never even mention the person's name or company. I can remember this because one, you received the most responses to a post I have ever seen on notaryrotary and two, like many others was I wondering who this person was and what was the name of his/her company because you never mentioned it. A few other posted mention in responses down the trail of comments. it sounds like somone needs to give him a test of his own madiness. Examples that comes to mind, if he pays late, start small claims court procedure..... This person seems like a rug-rat! Don't get me started! Don't mess with my fellow Notaries!

I am honest and professional and I don't lie

I will say here (this is my last post on NR about it) that the newest entry that he has posted contains outright lies and more twisting of the truth. I will not dignify the details, but will reply via private email if anyone wants to be bored with it. One important piece of information that I do want to counter: He says I was rude to Carmen, and I have never spoken to or emailed her in my life. She sent me an email and said as much to me. I have no issues with her at all. About being rude to him- this is absolutely true. I don't respect him and I don't feel the need to pretend that I do.
I am professional and have been nothing but 100% honest with him, and in my posts. I can look in the mirror and be happy with what I see. I wanted to see what others had to say and I am angry about the injustice, but I am a generally happy person and want to move on. I know who I am and that I am proud of that person. Thank you for all of the private emails. I know I am not alone and there are others with issues. That means so much.

Power of those Reviews...

... I went to that site & looked up some of the reviews. Most were short & flowery but I was really dumbstruck at the review for the 1st listing in zip code 95112 . Plug that zip code into the search box on that site & read the review for the fellow with the 1st listing. My draw dropped & I about fell over backwards in my chair. It would be nice if the other side of the story was printed - maybe there isn't another side?

Two sides to every story...

Maybe this couple insisted on reading every word, and the signing had gone on over 2 hours... yes, I would probably be getting impatient too. Of course, the $4000 discrepancy is the notary's fault, right? Not the fault of the lender trying to screw the couple out of $4000.

The point is, this notary paid - probably big bucks - to be the first listed in his zip code, and his paid listing is tainted because of this review. It has probably significantly harmed his business and this is the direct fault of that website who insists on acting as a mediator between signing services and notaries... an authority that none of the users on that site approve of or consented to.

Re: Power of those Reviews...

I wonder why it took three years to post the review (it was written this year but problem occurred in 2007) Just a thought. Like vindictive to me but if they forgot to sue for damages by the notary, what else can they do?

I have a hard time believing this story.

It feels exaggerated. There are too many questions unanswered.
I believe there are 3 sides to every story.
Why didn't they tell the title company or lender as soon as the discrepancy was discovered?

Also....

Most first time home buyers are usually accompanied by their realtors when they attend a closing. If they didn't have a realtor, that was their first mistake.

If they didn't have an attorney, that's they're mistake as

well....there's a reason why they are hired....
