PROFICIENCY SIGNINGS & LSI

I think we should all accept their signings and then just ignore them and not go. Maybe they will get the message once they've been burned a couple of times.

Not a very good idea. I won't do that to the borrowers. Remember, they are your neighbors. I just don't work for them.

An intriguing idea! But I can’t agree. Just because there are many unethical and even criminal companies/operators out there it doesn’t mean we should lower ourselves to their standards. I may be wrong, and it may be a very tenuous link but I believe to have at least some judiciary duty to the borrower if we accept an assignment. Just say no. JMO

Les, unless you are putting on robes, you may have a fiduciary duty to the borrowers.

I meant “fiduciary” Thanks for the correction Smile!

I can't comment on Proficiency Signings, but I have no problems whatsoever with LSI...and even if I did I wouldn't pull this kind of stunt. This is just wrong for many reasons - ranks right up there with "do the job and don't send the docs back til they pay"

As others said...just say no...

Totally agree with the others. Have no payment issues at all with LSI.

Have no history with Proficiency.

Okay..I stand corrected

About Proficiency Signings - worked for them once - job 10/27/09 - paid 11/20/09 - paid exceptionally well for a split signing....

Accepting signings from a signing agency means you work harder and get paid less. As long as agencies can get notaries to work for them, they won't send the business to you directly. I prefer to work with the title companies - no hand holding and timely payment. JMHO

oops - revision - as long as you work for hand holding low paying agencies, they satisfy the title company needs and the title cos stop sending buz directly to notaries.

Self-destructing in five, four, three, two...

Ms. Burkhart, I'm terribly afraid you've picked the ~wrong~ battle cry, so's to speak.

The old-timers here have helped grow both companies into major servicers. History is a good teacher.

You will find, if you do your due diligence, more information in the archives of this forum than, well, almost anywhere.

No way I'd sign on to your "ignore them and not go" tactic. It's a huge fail as a strategy.

That said, I wish you all the luck, Ms. Burkhart.
