Safety First In Unsafe Driving Conditions
Everyone please be safe while driving to your appointments in extreme weather conditions or regular conditions. I was on my way to a middle of the night signing (2:30am) and was driving on the freeway in rainy conditions and there was a 5 car pile up with fatalities right in front of me, I even witnessed the last crash from a distance and called 911 to report it. As I passed the mangled cars and debris I said a prayer. So please think safety first, even when they give us last minute docs, our lives are worth more than that.

Thank goodness you "saw" the last crash and weren't involved. I often think about the conditions when I'm offered $85 to go out to get the documents signed. I've travelled through 12" of snow (unusual in Oklahoma) to a borrower who called me when I was 1/2 way to their place to let me know it was too dangerous for anyone to be out. They were very apologetic, but still got their paperwork done and I got back on the road to drop it off before I went home for the duration.
I know it's the business, but while the SS or LO are sitting at home dispensing the paperwork, do they ever consider those of us accomplishing the job? I don't believe they do most of the time.

So true Ikando, so true. It is not uncommon for an LO go their entire career without sitting in on a signing. They should all be required to occasionally go out on ride alongs with the Mobile Signing Agents. Because signings outside of Escrow are much different, we are in a less controlled environment and we are most often in the BO's domain. They need to experience what we go through, maybe they would even compenstate us more fairly.
Re: The Crash My husband was driving and I asked him if he could move over one lane to the left because of the ponding water, in order to avoid a spin out. He said that he would as soon as the person behind us either moved or stopped tailgating us. The person switched lanes and speed past us, that was the car that crashed into the existing multi car crash. We are truly Blessed!
