So glad I made the move
As some of you may know, 6 months ago I made the move from SA to LO. I posted my transition here on NotRot and got a hodgepodge of comments. "Great move, good luck" to "Tried that, wrong timing, bad move". Well, some of you wanted to be kept informed of my progress so here goes!
It was the best decision I ever made. With my knowledge of the customer's perspective that I learned from closing loans, I was able to offer the opportunities to refinance that was beneficial to the client, very sincere, and was a win-win situation for all involved. If they are better off where they're at, I let them know - If they can save money by refinancing, I let them know.
I have a job where I can make money letting people know how they can save money.... What can be better than that?
And I truly respect and am thankful to all the signing agents that represent me, and help my clients feel comfortable with their decision.

It really depends on the circumstances...
In my area, if you don't have strong connections with realtors or EOs for purchase closings, you are dead in the water. Also, in this market, there is a lot of undercutting with LOs who are always ready to undercut you by as little as .125%. I absolutely refuse to get caught up in a bidding war. My service is excellent. I am a valuable resource.
In the coming year, purchases are where it's at. Refis will definitely be slowing down due to the interest rates going up.
